We are changing our Naples home stove from electric to gas. We have use propane because natural gas is not available in our neighborhood. We went to Bill Smith appliances and purchased a beautiful GE Cafe gas stove. Because of Covid we ordered the stove in February and did not get deliver until July. We were at our summer home in PA when it was delivered. When we returned to our Naples home on 10/19/21 the stove was in place with all the shipping material still in place. Only the exterior box was removed. I called Bill Smith because the instructions stated the the stove was set up for natural gas and would need converted to propane by a professional. Bill Smith said that we would have to find a company to convert it at our expense. We were never told this when we purchased the unit. We did contact a professional and are having it converted. In the mean time I decided to attached a safety bracket to the top back of the unit that is designed to keep the stove off the back wall which would be a fire hazard. There are 4 self tapping screws that attach the part. None of the 4 screws would tighten down to secure the part. I called Bill Smith service and retail store many time and they said they are not responsible for assembly. How can you sell a 3,000.00 stove and not be responsible for problems that occur with assembly. I got the run around all day and spent 5 hrs trying to tighten 4 screws. Something that should take minutes. Bill Smith refused to send someone out to look at or repair the problem. What ever happen to service or warranty. Be smart and go to Lowe’s or Home Depot. Read more5/21/25 The saga continues—the "New" Refrigerator's water dispenser and ice maker stopped working, and the water filter is frozen in place. This is the second time this has happened with this "new" fridge. A new service person came out and said a part needs to be ordered and installed. I am so frustrated. I have to buy water and make ice as I wait.
Feb.2025 -My two-and-a-half-year-old fridge stopped working. Thanks to Chris for sharing with me that I had an extended warranty. Overall the email was problematic, however, he finally got to the point that led to getting the service I needed.
Really appreciate the Service Division and the quick response to this service call. Thank you Vic from Service Division. Appreciate your concern with me not having a working fridge. He worked on me getting same-day service.
Thank you Adonias for coming out on such short notice. You are always very professional. You assured me that as soon as the parts are in you will return to do the repairs.
Update-3/30/25 Almost a month and refrigerator is still not repaired. The service tech came put in new parts, was told to wait 24 hours, fridge still not working. Told I have to wait for new parts to come in. All this time it is costing me added money. Someone please help me!
4/16/25 The refrigerator could not be fixed. Because I had warranty I was able to get a new refrigerator.

Read moreToday was the third time technician was here to fix a GE double oven and microwave combo , and still not working !! The technician order a part for the oven and the part wasn’t the correct one and now Bill Smith appliance store in Fort Myers supervisor ,Want to charge me for a part that they took back and didn’t work, how can a customer be charged when Bill Smith technician ordered from GE and the technician was the one that opened the box and installed it , and then the technician took the new part out because it didn’t solve the problem / and they took it back to the store, now they tell me ( the customer) that I am responsible to pay for the part even if it wasn’t the right part . When the technician ordered the wrong part I told him I don’t think that is the right part to order because it was only a replacement LED screen, when the problem is in the control panel, he told me that’s is what GE told him to order . Bill smith or GE should be responsible for ordering the wrong part but not me the customer . For this personal reason I would never recommend any one to buy there .
