Fort Lake Skating Rink — Attraction in Fort Oglethorpe

I will never be back! I booked my step sons birthday party for dec. 12th. I actually booked 2-3 months in advanced. When I booked I was told $150 for 13 kids comes with 2 pizzas and a small drink for each child, and the time was 12-4. So this is how it all started. The Thursday before the party I called to confirm we were still good to go(you know, because of covid and all), the lady tells me yes, she has me down. On Saturday, we show up at 11:45(the doors are locked). I call and she said, we don’t open until 12. I said, well our party starts at 12, and everyone is already here and it’s raining. They showed up like 5 minutes till 12. When get in and we get everyone settled. She tells me we only get 45 minutes in the party room(which is fine) and after 45 minutes they will kick us out. So I told her I wanted to wait until the pizzas were ready before we go in, so we aren’t killing our time waiting on pizza. She then ask what pizza? Me confused, I said the pizza with my package. She said they do not provide pizza but the one in Hamilton does. I tell her I was told on the phone that it came with pizzas and she said they have pizza but it’s not provided, that a party to her is just cake and ice cream. So I ask how much pizzas are. Well.... they only sell it by the slice(it’s school pizza) and $3 a SLICE!!!! I walk off and she tells me not to fret, that they don’t allow fretting there. I’m sorry. I have 15 kids here for a party where they were expecting pizza!!! So we don’t get the pizza. I see no point in the party room. They have booths set up so I just figured we will eat the cake there and it will also save me money bc for 13 kids to skate it would have only been $104. So I was paying extra for the party room apparently. Well, my step sons mom goes to tell her we are not going to get the party room. She then tells us that if we don’t get the party room that we have to eat the cake OUTSIDE, in the RAIN!!!!!! So why do you have booths set up??? We ended up with the party room only bc of that reason. This is a horribly ran business! So if you’re planning on a birthday party here for your little one, do not! There are much better skating rinks elsewhere. I would avoid it at all cost. We will never be back t skate nor have another party...

My kids go every weekend with all their friends, be careful going in the driveway. Both driveways are terrible but the one that is closest to the motel is definitely the better of the two to come in and the other driveway that is right in front of the building itself is definitely the better to go out, and I strongly suggest going out at an angle in coming in at an angle if you have a low sitting vehicle… It would be great if they would fix that driveway🤦‍♀️ cost about $10 a person to skate and you have to pay whether you’re skating or not it’s a couple dollars less I’m not really a fan of that as I cannot skate at all so it’s kind of silly that I have to pay to come there and watch my children. But it is what it is. You can’t tell where the sign is for the skating rink. It is a big white sign with red letters but it’s never lit up. It doesn’t have any lights working in it, so you almost drive past the skating rink if you don’t know it’s there… the skates are pretty worn in and worn out… which is to be expected with how many people come and go, they work well for what they are my two oldest wear the skates from the skating rink our youngest, he wears rollerblades… To answer a question about the shoes they have skates on them called helles you cannot wear them. They are not permitted.. you can buy snacks and drinks inside the building… I’m not sure on the prices on that one thing I do as well is when I drop my kids off once you go in if you think you’re coming out, you have to pay to get back in which is a big deterrent from kids leaving and coming back inside. thank you for having us for them. I couldn’t have asked for a better place to host my son's birthday party than this skating rink! From start to finish, the experience was seamless and filled with fun. The staff was incredible—so attentive and helpful, they made sure everything went off without a hitch. The rink was clean, well-maintained, and the lighting and music added a great atmosphere for the kids to enjoy themselves.

The kids had a blast skating, and there was plenty of space for them to move around safely. The party room was set up beautifully, and they took care of all the details, from decorations to snacks, making it so easy for us as parents to relax and enjoy. The staff went above and beyond to make my son feel special, and he and his friends haven’t stopped talking about how much fun they had.
