What a special experience it has been getting to know Jill during our stay in Chattanooga, TN! We will definitely be back for more workshop classes & events! It was an absolute honor to learn from someone at Jill’s skill level: a master potter who has spent years honing her craft & developing her art form. Throwing clay on a wheel can be intimidating but Jill’s sweet, calm & warm demeanor instantly puts you at ease. We couldn’t believe that we were actually making useful pieces so quickly thanks to her instruction! Taking pottery wheel lessons with Jill was so relaxing, you can actually feel any stress melting away. Not only that, but she also told us about so many good restaurants & other fun things to do near downtown Chattanooga.
Mudhoe Studio really is a hidden gem in the Fort Oglethorpe & Chattanooga areas! Great for group events or one-on-one pottery lessons. We definitely thought this was one of the best things to do while on vacation in the Chattanooga area. If you’re a local, you’re definitely in luck - this place is a pot o’gold! 100% affordable, compared to other studios we called, especially with the type of value that you’ll...

The communal tub containing fired pieces allowed unchecked handling by multiple individuals, despite instructions to refrain from touching. This inconsistency was compounded by disparate treatment among customers at the Chattanooga Market, where some were permitted to handle pieces freely while others were prohibited. Furthermore, photography was restricted in class, yet a picture of attendees was posted without consent for promotional purposes, raising concerns about professionalism. The pottery wheel malfunctioned throughout the four-week course, and despite assurances of repair, the issue remained...
Read moreMy husband and I enjoyed the class! My only critique would be to widen the time frame of when our pieces will be ready. Our class was on 6/19 and we were told numerous times that it would take 2-3 weeks before we could pick them up. I just picked them up today, 8/14, and that's after the owner rescheduled three times. If you tell people 2-3 weeks then it is expected for things to be ready by the end of that third week. If they aren't, disappointment and frustration sets in and that's exactly what happened for us. Try telling your students 4-6 weeks or 6-8 weeks and if the pieces are done earlier than that then it'll be a happy day...
