I work in public education and I’m all about investing in my students and my classroom. I bought stylish, colorful rugs and a cabinet to organize my paperwork, as I prepare for small groups and heavily differentiated instruction. I wanted kids to take pride in our environment but I was tapped out. I heard from my teacher bestie about the Welman Project for the organizational solutions that would help me organize the potential clutter of teaching morphology, phonics, comprehension and anything else that kids need to get back on track and close COVID gaps.
I’m literally pulling and creating flash cards and passages to Coach my students and close the gaps. The idea of continuing to spend money got overwhelming and she brought up this organization. I got binders for every student and clear pockets for them to keep track of their individual handouts for practicing gap skills. A few pencils and plenty of anchor charts along with boards for identifying the standards being remediated in small group.
I walked away with electric staplers and all those awesome extra touches that make kids feel that I have a plan for each one!
I can’t think you guys enough and I love that we are recycling and reducing waste. I even got blended sound cards that saved me hours of prep. I’m going to be visiting monthly to make sure that I am making my environment welcoming and show my kids that they are worth every hour of planning. The Welman Project has already saved us almost $1000 dollars and given me a support system that shows my students that their community is support system.
They say it takes a village and this is clearly a community effort to make that proverb a...
Read moreThis place is a dream come true! As a former elementary teacher and current hobbies enthusiast, my heart was so happy here. Especially knowing all the good they are doing for teachers. I couldn't stop smiling as I looked around the curiosity shop, seeing all the fun craft supplies that were so thoughtfully organized and displayed. It's so refreshing to have a place to shop for repurposed materials that doesn't feel junky. After having a lovely chat and tour with Matty (I think) I immediately signed up for a membership and explored the warehouse area when I found even more goodies - some of which I'm using right now to make a scissors pouch. I can't wait for my next visit! ❤️ Sidenote: If you are someone who uses stuffing like polyfil, ask for the "welly wool." After chatting with Matty about my hobbies, he went in the back to hunt some...
Read moreThis is such an incredible resource for crafters, artists, and all creatives in between!!! I always find the coolest goodies here at fantastic prices, and I love that they support teachers with their sales! They have an EXTREMELY well organized portion of their shop that is for teachers only, that allows them to get the supplies needed for their classrooms (I believe for free!)
The staff has so much pride in their work, and genuinely loves interacting with their community and customers. They host super fun classes and workshops that bring the community closer together, and are so fun to attend!
They also have so many fun bits and bobbles in their “fill a bag” section that my siblings love to search through when they come in!
Such a fun place that supports an...
