Although I received adequate dental care from Dr. Ho, my experience at Littleton Dental was absolutely horrendous. The administrative function of this office is where nearly all my dissatisfaction comes from. After receiving several expensive crowns I began receiving notices from my insurance provider stating that they wouldn't pay for care I received due to inadequate documentation of the condition that would necessitate the crowns. I immediately brought this matter to the attention of Dana at Littleton dental. She told me this was fairly common and they would resubmit documentation so the insurance would take care of it. Eventually that happened, but in all the confusion I found that I had overpaid them due to a double billing. Again I brought this to the attention of Dana, who said she'd take care of it. In the meantime, I started receiving account past due notices. I brought these to the attention of Dana, who said she'd take care of it... again. Keep in my mind, they owed me money, not the other way around. When my account reached 6 months past due, I finally gave up and went to their office with the intent of paying the past due amount to avoid collection agencies and negative repercussions to my credit. They refused to accept payment, again stating that the matter would be taken care of and I would be credited the amount they owed me. Then I started getting notices and phone calls from a collection agency. Absolutely inexcusable. Although these eventually stopped, I don't know if it was due to Dana and Littleton dental rectifying the situation. My credit report still doesn't reflect the incident so I do hope it was rectified. In the meantime I've had to closely monitor the situation to see if legal action would be required. I simply have no other recourse.
My experience left such a bad taste in my mouth (pun intended), that I didn't seek dental care for a couple of years as a result. I finally had to replace a night guard that cost $550 at Littleton Dental. I received care at Aspen View dental, and was charged $250 for a new night guard. That is what finally prompted me to write this review.
I initially chose Littleton dental based on the number of positive reviews I found on Google. I came to find out that, at the time, Littleton dental was giving water piks to everyone who brought in a copy of a review written for Google. This likely prompted a lot of positive reviews after very brief experience with this practice. My review reflects my long term experience with them. I didn't get a...
Read moreI was with this provider for about 2 years. They did help me get back on track after years of neglecting my teeth and gums. However, I had multiple issues with them which ultimately led me to find a different dentist which I am MUCH happier with.
First, I needed periodontal maintenance, which they recommend happens every 3 months. My insurance only pays for 2 cleanings per calendar year, and I had to tell the front desk to schedule me out 4 months instead of 3 because the dentist and hygienists refused to work with me on this.
Second, every time I went in for the first 18 months I had a different hygienist. I understand that there is a shortage in Colorado, but it does not strike me as a great sign that every 4 months I am having to explain my history to a new hygienist.
Third, I was told I needed 3 surgery operations. I asked for help prioritizing so I could space it out across multiple years so my insurance could help. Rather than helping me prioritize operations, they directed me to their credit program.
Fourth, when I went in for my wisdom teeth extraction, they did no pre-op preparation whatsoever. I showed up for my appointment after eating a large breakfast, having been told nothing beforehand. It wasn't until I read my liability waivers, given to me the day of, that I learned that it could be dangerous and potentially deadly to go under anesthesia with a full stomach.
The wisdom teeth was the final straw. I switched dentists and found a different oral surgeon to extract my wisdom teeth.
Littleton Dental is not even much more affordable with my insurance, though perhaps this is a benefit if you are not insured. My extraction cost less where I ultimately had it done and my regular cleanings are the same amount from a much more attentive and cooperative dentist.
Be prepared to advocate for yourself and do your own research (or be prepared to get a second opinion). They will recommend aggressive treatment plans with no consideration for your individual circumstance, and push you towards their high interest credit plan if you can't pay for it...
Read moreI want to be clear I’ve seen both Dr. Goldman and Dr. Castro I thought both of them were incredible, I would give both of them five stars my only reason for giving four stars is based on the experience I’ve had with the receptionists. My main dentist is Dr. Goldman. I have a locked jaw and unfortunately I can barely open my mouth even with that Dr. Goldman has been very accommodating and incredibly professional. I needed a crown for my tooth and Dr. Goldman and his team put a lot of effort into making sure that the new crown was the right shade. I also saw Dr. Castro to get a root canal, again I can barely open my jaw the root canal was in one of my back teeth and even with the challenges of my jaw Dr. Castro did a phenomenal job. I think both of these doctors are very talented and I highly suggest going to both of them. As I said Dr. Goldman is my main dentist, so I tend to be a little biased towards him just due to how much time and energy he has put into my teeth. With that being said despite the professionalism of the dentists I did give this four stars due to the experience I’ve had with the receptionists. From what I can tell they have a lot going on; they are hiring new people and there are a lot of position changes. With that I’ve been told the wrong price for services, I’ve been told the wrong day for scheduling, and it appears to me that the receptionist do not communicate with each other. I have confirmed and rescheduled appointments and then the next day I get a call from another receptionist to do the same thing all over again. Though I would give both the dentists five stars, I at this point would probably only give the receptionist three stars. I acknowledge what the receptionists are going through is probably very challenging, but to give feedback there is room for improvement...
