I go here almost every week, it is my favorite place to go. Ever since I started dating my boyfriend we come here, watch a random movie and get a slushy. They have amazing prices on movies, and the price for movie snacks is amazingly low, plus popcorn and slushees and soda have free refills. This place is great for people of all ages, the new seats are clean and warm. The food is amazing and the staff are *always friendly. The owner has a kind of introduction before each movie and it is one of the most welcoming things I’ve ever seen. He seems like such a kind person.
the only reason I give it 4/5 stars is that I always felt welcomed coming here and even after this one incident, I will always be coming back. Unfortunately during one of the last movies I watched there, I got the same slushee that I always get, which I refill maybe 2 times during the movies usually (free refills) Anyways, I went for my second refill and a staff member I hadn’t met before was the only one there. I waited in line for a long time because there was a lot of people. It was my turn next when I stepped up, he just left from behind the counter and went towards a different theater. I was really confused and waited for a bit longer, when I went and looked he was talking to the ticket checker towards one of the theaters. I called out to him and asked if I could gets some help. He looked at me shook his head and continued to talk. After about 2 more minutes I called to him again and he nodded again, his co-worker seemed to nudge him over at this point and he finally walked over. I have him my cup as he glared at me and told me something of the extent of “wow, another refill? Are you sure you need it?” It really threw me off and made me pretty angry. I got my drink and walked back to the movie, but it ended up ruining my night.
Other than that one incident, the place is wonderful, welcoming...
Read moreThe remodeled theatres are refreshingly clean, the perfect size to enjoy a movie w/o the feeling of being packed in, clean, and priced to bring sexy back! By that I mean date night, sharing time together at the movies again, looking forward to quiet time in the dark! The concession is staffed well and stocked up, the theatres are clean as well as the bathrooms checked regularly. The management here has got it going on and knows how to keep it’s patrons happy and that includes all ages! They haven’t closed their doors after we stopped buying tickets to stream content instead of coming to see Barbie. They pulled through a couple of tough years and kept the place viable! I am a kid who went to 25 cent matinees and there is still magic in the dark of the big screen for me! I am fortunate to be able to choose from a great selection at the Classic Cinemas Fox Lake Theatres every week and there are times my husband and I enjoy the theatre experience all to ourselves if you can imagine that- like we did in January watching Avatar 3D on a freezing evening as my birthday treat! Nothing beats the magic of the big screen for this film goer and this theatre gets a ten for refreshments, cleanliness, ease of execution in tickets, and location, location, location! Check back in, you won’t be disappointed if you pick...
Read moreMy mom, sister and I went to see Wicked on the busiest night of Fox Lake Theater’s history (Wednesday before Thanksgiving). A newer employee at the register, was clearly having a rough night and was quite hostile with my mother when purchasing tickets and he wound up giving us Moana tickets. When we went to get them corrected, a manager in a teal blue button up shirt helped us out and I need to sing his praise quickly. This manager was working his tail off!! His customer service was UNMATCHED. He was clearly knee deep in handling multiple issues, pushed to the limits, and took the time to fix our tickets, and walk us to our new seats. He was kind, attentive, and so helpful. Whoever he is, he needs a handsome raise! This theater is lucky to have such a competent and compassionate leader taking care of their store. He deserves the world & I hope his employer knows what an asset he is and awards him justly! If you ever have the privilege of meeting him or working with him, you’re in great hands. THANK YOU...
