We love Harlinsdale Farm. Mainly for its dog park. Plenty of play area. There’s three fenced in areas. One that’s closed as they rotate the big dogs from one to the other seasonally. There’s a small dog area under 30 pounds (bigger dogs not welcome) and then the big dog section that’s for over 30 pounds(smaller dogs are welcome). Water fountains are provided for cool drinking water. Plenty of trash cans and poop bag stations. Most owners are courteous and attentive to picking up there dog’s excrements. Some just talk on their cell phones and ignore their dog and don’t correct in the moment bad behaviors and that’s frustrating. More often than not you have the attentive dog parent but the inattentive dog parent is not appreciated and I will leave the park when this happens, thanks to those that are these people who ruin it for the rest of the well behaved population. Also am highly disappointed when someone comes and says that there dog isn’t friendly. Well then your dog shouldn’t be here. Again this scenario is a rarity at Harlinsdale but they are some regulars and I will be filing a complaint if it continues to happen, as it’s inappropriate. Overall, this place is great. There’s a canoeing launch point with an area of shallow water for wading, just be aware of snakes. Horse shows occur regularly as well as polo matches in the Tractor...
Read moreI have mixed feelings about this and am having a hard time trying to decide how to write a review.
We attended Pilgrimage Music Festival here. The farm itself was great... but my biggest obstacle was the lack of accessibility. The festival made an effort, and I'm going to try to find the Festival itself to leave a review about those efforts. Overall, bumpy grass fields, gravelly roads, roads that were originally paved but have since noticeably deteriorated--seriously painful and challenging for anyone using a wheeled mobility device. It's a large farm, which is good in that you can fit in a lot (three performance stages, countless vendors and food options), but it's also a lot of ground to cross. I was exhausted by the time I got from the street to inside the front gates.
The farm is great if you're fully able bodied. It's very charming and the perfect area for events. If that were the case for me, I'd give it five stars. But if you have any mobility issues, here's your heads up. Don't go alone. Have someone to help push or pull you, or someone who can go get you things while you stay in one place. (If you're in an electric scooter or wheelchair, you're probably fine? Just don't go when the fields are wet. You'll get stuck in the mud.)
I don't have a lot of photos of the farm itself, just the artists at the festival, so...
Read moreBeautiful park purchased from the Harlin family which was home to a long history of Tennessee Walking Horse breeding farm. Famous for Midnight Sun, a Grand World Champion TWH. Has a really nice 1/2 acre dog park. Grass run/walk trail. Along the Harpeth River and has a 3 acre catch and release pond. Many of Franklin's "events" occur here. Fireworks. Pilgrimage Festival, etc. Great for photography. Cool old buildings and barn. Canoe/kayak access point within the Harpeth River access points. Find map at "city of Franklin" official website. Take gravel drive towards the southwest behind the 2 small white buildings to access it. Horse events, i.e. Polo matches have recently been held. This park is a...
