My husband and I visited The White Alligator last night. This about our 4th visit so we had our mind set on what we wanted. When we first arrived it was a little busy so we walked around checking for the most current updates at The Factory. Our walk maybe took 15 minutes and by then the line had cleared out we were able to order after just a few people. We wanted to try something new which was the fried catfish, but we came for the debris fries. No problem, Carla fixed us up and we got everything we wanted! Our food was delivered nice, fresh and hot. The fish was lightly battered and was so great! I hardly eat fried food and it was a lighter surprise over other heavily battered and fried to death catfish I have had around this area. The debris fries were what my husband was craving. Don't leave there without them!! The highlight was we were able to meet the owners, Rob and Carla...and the best part was, nothing was wrong, they just took the time to see how we were! We were at another local owned place a few years back and sat by the owner at the bar. We complimented the new location to the bartender and the owner said nothing...his business didn't last 6 months. Rob and Carla, not only do you have some great food (my favorite is the muffaletta) and service, but your friendly family atmosphere is a breath of fresh air for those of us who live here. Welcome again to Franklin! John and I look forward to dining with you again soon.....and bringing...

We skipped that step though, as there were 4 seats together at the cocktail bar. Both bartenders were very very attentive. The leading bartender said this was the slowest night they'd had since they opened and yet almost every single seat in the restaurant was taken. I had one Frozen 75 - a mixture of lemon, gin, and champagne and it knocked my socks off!! So SOUR but so delicious and got a great buzz. My partner ordered the alligator po boy. He said it was good and finished it, but $18 for a sandwich with NO SIDE was too expensive. A side of fries was $7 and was split between him and the two other people we were with. My fried catfish platter however was incredible. The Cajun fries 10/10. Hushpuppies 11/10. I didn't care for the salsa/sauce that came with the hushpuppies but the white sauce that came with the fish was phenomenal. I was a tad thrown off at first - being served 4 little twisted up pieces of catfish when I'm used to seeing huge fried filets but it was soooo good. I thoroughly enjoyed my meal and for just a few dollars more than the po boys, I think it is a better value. The vibe at the bar was just great and I'd love to go back soon, even if to just grab a drink and then wander...
Read moreThis weekend, my wife and I had the pleasure of dining at The White Alligator, nestled within the charming Factory at Franklin, Tennessee. Despite it being their opening weekend, our experience was nothing short of delightful.
The culinary highlight for my wife was the Alligator Po' Boy, a unique and flavorful twist on a classic. I indulged in the Roast Beef Po' Boy, which was exceptionally delicious, with every bite more satisfying than the last. But the star of the show was undoubtedly the Boudins – reminiscent of croquettes, these little wonders were a perfect blend of crispy and savory, leaving us wanting more.
The service was a tiny bit slow, but given it was their opening weekend, this was completely understandable. In fact, it gave us more time to soak in the vibrant atmosphere of the place, which blends rustic charm with a modern twist.
If you find yourself in Franklin, The White Alligator is a must-visit. Whether it's for their unique takes on Southern classics, their cozy and inviting ambiance, or just to experience a slice of Tennessee's culinary finesse, you won't be...
