Hood College — Attraction in Frederick

We were there for a college visit with our highschool senior. The staff and students hosting us for the morning were very friendly. The campus is very nice. The facilities are well kept and modern. It is a beautiful campus.

It is a small school. That can be both a plus and a minus at the same time depending on what you are looking for. A maximum class size of 30 is great. Lots of upper level classes are in the 9 to 5 student range. That is amazing! Small campuses are intimate. You get to know everyone there. However the school may not be able to offer as much of some things you get on a large campus.

I think Frederick makes a great college town. There are lots of things to do and places to eat. There is history and culture in town or nearby.

It is in a beautiful area as Frederick is a great place to live and hang out. Most of staff cares about the students and small class sizes mean that you can know your professors and the staff. For the downsides, it's a smaller school that seems expensive for what it offered. As others have said, it is does emphasize the "Liberal" in liberal arts more than conservative views. Administratively this school sucks. The only reason I gave two stars as opposed to one was for some of the killer staff members. Not everyone, but some of these professors really love what they’re doing and teaching which makes classes and the school more enjoyable. But after graduating from here I still would not recommend you waste your money here.
