This café sits inside what used to be a gas station, and now it’s the cutest spot for vegetarian bites! Their menu is inspired by locally sourced and seasonal ingredients. Such a lovely Frederick find! 🥰 🌱 The Station Market & Cafe 📍 Frederick, MD

Old gas station ➡️ farm-to-table vegetarian café 🌱 Vegan + gluten-free pastries, seasonal menu, great vibes. Brazilian cheese balls + latte = chef’s kiss ☕️✨ #FarmToTable #frederickmd #VeganFriendly #hiddengems #CafeTok

This small vegan cafe has a modest menu of vegan and plant based items. The food was tasty, but proportions were relatively small. Our sandwiches were adequate for a quick lunch. They had a number of breakfast, pastries, some savory, and vegan desserts. Unfortunately the desserts and pastries we had were dry and could’ve done better if they had been warmed up. The peach pie was very good. Unfortunately, the vibe didn’t quite come through. Our service staff did just enough to take our orders, but there was not a warm, friendly feeling. The variety of item in the store and market section were interesting but I just could not get a positive feeling about the location, decor, and staff. Hopefully a future visit will alter my first impressions.

They are absolutely doing something right here. My partner (vegetarian) and I (vegan) came here before a geocaching block party. We spent about 45 minutes here, and had a delicious breakfast of the vegan mac and cheese and the frittata (not vegan), plus a couple vegan pastries - lemon thyme shortbread cookies and a chocolate sage babka/bun. We also had drinks (cold brew; house soda). The owner, the front of house staff, and the chef were all very friendly and helpful. They were a bit busy when we first arrived, but we were happy to give a small business a couple minutes to catch up while we figured out our order. The food was all delicious - the shortbread, though vegan, completely fell apart in your mouth like shortbread should, and was absolutely scrumptious. I loved the chocolate sage bun - I haven’t had anything like chocolate babka or rugelach since going vegan almost 10 years ago, so it was such a treat to find something like this again. I don’t know what more to say about the savory food I had other than that it’s absolutely worth every bite. The flavors in the food are incredibly well developed and the chef(s) are very good at what they do here. If I lived in the area I would absolutely be a...

This was a particularly bad experience, and it warrants posting despite the fact that I really do wish this business the best. I was there about a week ago with my brother and he got severe food poisoning. He was sick for 3 days, vomiting again and again for a full day. It might have just been a bad batch, but it was REALLY an awful time for him. He went to urgent care as well when the nausea symptoms refused to go away. I want to share because in private messages with the owner, she mentioned that the rest of the batch was sold, so I was worried immediately that others had the same experience. I had gotten a fruit loaf before, and it had clumps of flour in it, which at larger volumes can also cause issues. I wish the best for this cafe, but I think they need to be more watchful with properly cooking and baking...

I needed a respite from work and thought I'd find some serenity, great coffee, vegan dishes, and pastries. I was delighted! The atmosphere was peaceful, welcoming, quiet. AND the food! I ordered a bowl of Rice and bean soup and, honestly, the BEST Rice and Bean soup I have EVER tasted. The portion was very generous. Then, I ordered one of their unique plates that was an oyster mushroom delight on foccacia vegan bread. The bread tasted like a hint of thyme and slightly salty. Not overwhelming. It was very moist; melted in your mouth. Again, generous portions! I recommend a walk up Bentz Street to 6th and enjoy this delighted. It felt.loke a place where I could relax with my favorite novel. On the top of my list of its kind in downtown Frederick. ...
