I really enjoyed shopping here for the first time. It definitely exceeded my expectations. They have a wide variety of local, organic, and sustainable products to choose from. They also have many vegan and vegetarian options. Everything local is marked. I was very surprised by how much sustainable and reusable household and personal care items they carried. You can tell a lot of thought was put into the selection. I usually have to go on Amazon to find the same brands they carry because zero waste options can be hard to find. The produce bags provided are compostable and you can choose paper bags at check out. If you bring your own bags they give you a token for each bag which you use to vote for what local charity should receive a donation. Very smart idea! The also have a lot of recycling options inside and outside of the store. They had a drop off for safety razors for shaving, old tshirts, batteries, and others that I know I'm forgetting. If you are trying to recycle styrofoam I know Publix has a bin for that, I can't remember if the co op had this. The cashier was very nice and even wrote down the contact for the manager because my sister makes vegan soap and has been thinking of selling them. My family will definitely...
Read moreI love this small community grocery store. Everyone is always pleasant and the customer is great. I have never had an issue until today. I ordered a Susie ( My favorite smoothie from this place). Before leaving I was at the register tried the smoothie and said this taste a little off. The cashier was super nice and asked if I would like another one made, I said no thinking I could get past the tast and the chunks of the kale. I came back in told the young lady in the kitchen the smoothie needed to be blended more. She took my drink poured it back in the blender and then added more pineapple to make the smoothie thicker. I tried it again and the smoothie was just off and more bitter due to the extra pineapple. I'm not sure if the girl that made the smoothie took it personal but if I'm spending almost $9.00 on a smoothie I would like for it to made perfect. Also, it could have been an issue with the blender. Blenders do wear down, even the good ones. Criticism is ok especially if its going to help with improvements I'm giving 5 stars because the place is still awesome despite me throwing my smoothie...
Read moreABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY THE BEST GROCERY STORE. I am so excited to have the Co op in Fredericksburg!! It’s about time…This area is in much need for a Healthy Fresh Concept of Grocery store. The PRODUCE is so fresh; you’ll think it was picked early that day & rushed to the store. They have almost everything in the Produce Dept. & for the first time ever in my life; I can say their produce is worth every dollar you spend there. The Dairy has a full-line of fresh healthy products. I enjoyed their bulk section as well as their made to order sandwiches. The staff was overwhelmingly helpful & I have enjoyed talking to Pam explaining to me the idea behind the Store. She also took the time to explain to me how can I be a Co-Owner & get deeper discounts than the rest of the customers. Now; I am a regular customer and I go in there like 2-3 times a week. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THE CO OP . Don’t take my word for it; go in there & see it for yourself. Just say Hello to Pam. She will too overwhelm you with...
