The San Juan Islands Museum of Art — Attraction in Friday Harbor

I really enjoyed how this museum narrows its focus for more impact. Currently, there are only three artists, and all are ceramicists, but all very different. My favorite is George Rodriguez' series on the Chinese zodiac, done with a Mexican twist with a series of collaborators. Patty Warashina's series she completed during the early years of covid displays how we all felt with humor and sympathy. And while Geoffrey Pagen's abstract tiles aren't my favorite, they are fascinating to look at. Very small museum. There is bunch of information in there that you could read on Wikipedia. There were bones belonging to some whales and other sea animals, this was good. The ticket was definitely overpriced. I would have happily considered it a donation to the museum if they had put in decent effort in to showing what kind of research they do but...

This was our first visit. They had a nice little touring and local Vietnam war exhibit. The $10 admission price was reasonable for the size of the exhibit, factoring in that everything on the island is more expensive than the mainland.
