The Top of the Town Lounge — Restaurant in Friday Harbor

A party of six arrive around 8pm on a Thursday evening and get unwelcomed by the hostess who instructed us, that in the future we should make a reservation. Personally I would have just left and gone somewhere else, but I was in a group. We sat down and discussed if we should leave because we were having fun and this was more of a quite, intimate setting. We were convinced by other customers, who overheard us, to stay. We placed an order for food. Only one person knew what they wanted to drink. Lots of cocktails listed in the menu, but be forwarned NO prices listed. The same person who seated us says she will come back because she " has the whole place to wait on". Jeez give me a break lady. It is a small place and heaven save you, if you ever have to work in a fast pace environment. Seriously she was so rude, if we hadn't ordered food I would have been out of there. 4 drinks, bacon wrapped dates, garlic bread and a charcuterie board $137. This place is truly amazing! My partner and I got off the last ferry of the night at 9:30pm for a romantic weekend getaway, and I was starving and so worried we wouldn’t find a place to eat because our ferry was late. They were suppose to close at 10pm so I was ready for them to say their kitchen was closed, but they were incredibly welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel at home! There happened to be a birthday party there at the same time and their fun loving energy permeated throughout the whole lounge, being wholly welcomed by the staff. They ended up letting us stay until after 11:30pm, serving us fine crafted cocktails and delicious food. I am not from the area, but happened to be for a few days back in August. My husband and I stopped in on a Friday afternoon right at open. We ended up sitting at the bar, staying for a while, and having several drinks from their menu.

The owner/bartender was a very personable guy, and had great liquor recommendations. I am a big fan of small cocktail bars, and bartenders who care about their craft, so this place was a big win. I did not try the food on the menu, but if I were a local I definitely would!
