Arrived here this morning 1/29/24 at 9:05, we were greeted, seated, ordered, ate and walked out at 9:31. Impressive, especially if you’re getting on a ferry. Aubrey (sp) very nice, everything happened as it should happen, and we left knowing we will be back. Our meals were delicious, large and filling. The chef did a nice job plating the breakfast. Nice home town feeling. See you next time! Old review from 12/11/23 Walked here because we had an hour wait for our ferry. We seated ourselves, sat for some time without being acknowledged. Finally, my husband went and confirmed that we self seat. By the time the server brought us menus, we were down to 35 mins before our ferry would board. We asked if this was enough time, server said, no. So we left. Sad because we really wanted to try this place. Maybe if we had been greeted, and seated, and maybe a smile, the outcome could have been different. The server talked us out of staying and dining. I asked about taking our food to go, she couldn’t guarantee that either. I know home cooked, custom orders take time.. but I’d never let money walk out the door. 12/11/23 @ 9:00. I might add, there were other tables with diners, most already had their food. Not what I would consider busy. Can’t give any stars for the food. Didn’t eat. Service intentionally left blank. Due to lack of.. Atmosphere was cute…but server hurt this area too. **Based on the owners timely and polite response, we will be back. Thank you! Back again, 9/24/2024 Fabulous food! Best breakfast of the summer! Great service! Thanks Danny!

In a town filled with charming, albeit high-end places to eat, the Rocky Bay Café stands out. Conveniently situated just off the intersection of Spring Street and 2nd Avenue, the cafe is nestled between the Palace Theatre (currently showing Beetlejuice Beetlejuice) and a gift shop and stationery store with the charming name Sandpebble. The cafe maintains a low profile, almost hidden from view behind a small, overstuffed bulletin board, which, unlike virtually any other bulletin board I’ve encountered in similar circumstances, was completely up to date with interesting and relevant information. Inside, although unassuming and utilitarian, the cafe was almost full of people who were clearly enjoying their meals. My vegetarian omelette was excellent, and a glance at the menu and the food being enjoyed at nearby tables revealed an impressive array of culinary delights. Service was neither fast nor slow; it was appropriate, especially given how busy it was over the lunch hour. A great stop with congenial and pleasant atmosphere. Highly recommended!

Food was so very disappointing. I did order to-go, but that should have no bearing on the overall quality of the food...other than not being as warm as possible. This was my first time in this restaurant since owners changed. Food was absolutely amazing under the prior management. I ordered the crab benedict and my husband got an all meat omelet. No English muffin on the crab Benedict...just bland tasting crab patties that I can buy in any frozen section of a grocery store. Benedict sauce was barely present and the flavor was nothing to ever want to eat again. Potatoes okay. My husband's omelet was worse than anything I've ever seen or tried. Eggs were cooked and then meat and cheese were added and the cooked eggs just flipped over the top...exactly like you would see in a taco. Was told his meal came with hasbrowns, but got chopped potatoes on that too. Very very sad for being $50. Will not go there again or ever recommend. I will say that their street tacos at night are absolutely delicious and never ever disappointing.

We signed up on the list and we're 6th in line. There were 4 parties of 2 and one other party of 3. We were told it would be about a 25-30 minute wait which was fine. We ended up waiting about an hour and fifteen minutes. Even though it was a long wait it was fine up until one of the waitresses/hostess placed a party of 5 in front of us. They were either friends or acquaintances because it was obvious before they sat down they knew eachother. I walked in to look at the list and saw the name added to the side of the list. Our party was the last name on the page and when I signed in I know we were the last party listed. I spoke to two ladies behind the counter who claimed they didn't know anything about the list and directed me to the hostess. I walked over to her and she claimed they had been waiting a long time ago! The audacity! The response I got was a rude "there's nothing we can do, just wait or leave." All three staff members were very rude. The hostess especially with her obvious arrogance. I told them we would "wait for the next table" but she (the hostess) "need to know how wrong it is what you did." There was a table about to leave at this time. I said I would wait but then thought twice because of their callousness and decided to go elsewhere afterall. Who wants these type of people handling their food? There was not even a sorry for this or an ounce of understanding. It was upsetting because they couldn't have cared less. I doubt there will be any bit of a reprimand for the discrimination the...

This place is not only the best place to eat breakfast/brunch, during weekdays it's the only place to eat breakfast/brunch. It seems everywhere else either doesn't serve breakfast or doesn't serve breakfast except for weekends. So with that, expect a line out the door and down the block. Get there early and get your name on the list, they will call you when your table is ready so feel free to look at gift shops or grab a cup of coffee from a coffee stand. When seated we got our drinks right away, a few minutes to look at the menu and a reasonable time to get your food. While we were waiting for our food to come and even during our meal, the server came by to refill our coffee cups and bring more cream. The chicken fried steak was crispy and delicious, the sausage gravy was brownish rather than white/gray (like me mother used to make), but tasted great. The blueberry pancakes were light and fluffy (my wife says very blueberry and delicious). The drip coffee was fresh roasted by a local roaster and was rich and flavorful, they do have espresso, but we just wanted a cup of joe. The service was excellent and friendly for such a busy place and the server even came by twice to ask how our meal was (he forgot that he asked the first time, but that is all he forgot in the service department, not a bad thing at all). In all it was a great dining experience within walking distance of the wonderful Friday...
