This is one of our favorite playgrounds. It’s fairly new and kids love coming here to play on slides and zip line. We walk the walking path while they play. It is a safe and clean place that is frequent by diverse groups of people, in fact this is most diverse playground that we know. We come here at the least once a months and kids have made several friends that come there regularly as well. There are meeting facilities in this park with clean modern bathrooms, not just portable toilets. There are water fountains as well. Besides benches and benches with sunshade there is a large covered pavilion in this park. This summer was hot in MN and musicians have been playing music inside of the meeting hall, we also saw that meeting facilities were used by other organizations during this summer. This park feature waterfront and many people come to fish here, there is also a small sandy beach frequented by sun worshipers enjoying the rays of short MN summer. There is a beach volleyball area not too far from the water as well. Once in a while an ice cream truck will visit this park and sell frozen treats right by the pavilion. The parking lot is spacious, we have to drive to this park as it is not in our neighborhood and we always are able to find free parking spots. I think that the most important feature of this park are people that come here, and that’s a good enough reason to visit this park, to come and enjoy the...
Read more((AUGUST 19 2021)) I went to the park to comb the beach with my new metal detector. Now I was very surprised considering the 90 degree( F) weather the beach was not even open. The sign stated "Beach is Closed" and we still have plenty of summer left. So I was confused. Now , I did hear on the news maybe a month or two there was another drowning on the lake and wondered if it was closed due to the unfortunate accident or was it the geese made the lake unsafe from feces..? The beach looked bad and feces from geese strewn all over the sandy beach.. so, to date beach is closed.
The park portion is beautiful considering hwy 65 (Central Ave) runs right next to it. Was not busy with maybe 20 people in the park max. Big lot for parking, a nice grassy areas to picnic, outhouse were clean and all around a clean and nice looking park.. great for city dwellers and families to chill and relax in a just inside a nice suburban area. Some walking trails, ball courts, and fields to get a game of anything going with the right amount of people. Well, being the beach wasn't open for reasons unknown. Overall the park comes with a high recommendation, a nice...
Read moreThe playground is meant for young children 5 and under. My adventurous 3 year was getting bored. It is a sand base, which is nice. There were volleyball, tennis and basketball courts. We went on a Thursday morning, and there were few people there. It looks like you can go fishing here. There are at least 2 docks. There were two pavillions. It looks like there might be a concession stand? Whatever it was was closed, but there were tables. We only looked at the beach, but did not go in. We saw two swans. They had sprayed for something, but swimming was still allowed. Would recommend...
