I went to Salon Amore, a hair styling shop with additional spa-like services, none of which I've experienced. But I have gotten several haircuts here, including years back when I had the same stylist for 6 years. After that, I just took any stylist who agreed that s/he understood naturally wavy/curly hair and steep-angled layered cuts. The stylists here have always cut my hair the way I want it! Not only do they have pros who can do any cut, for any kind of hair, they understand and follow through on specific requests. For example, one side front is less curly than the other, so I ask them to cut that side a little shorter and a bit of additional layering. ALL stylists I have asked at the cheaper places, Fantastic Sam's, etc. have refused to do that, saying "it has to be even on both sides" and "I have to cut both sides the same or it won't look right". Not at this salon. Stylists also routinely mention products I could benefit from, like a gentle, weightless anti-frizz that keeps me from looking like a Janis Joplin wannabe. None have ever made me feel pressured to buy, but glad for the suggestions in most cases. This shop also has great gift items, many unique and well-priced. I especially like their hair ornaments, witty-sayings dish towels, and soooo cute kid's items (mostly for girls).Have a friend who had her half-gray hair colored, with highlights and low lights. It was beautiful. looked natural, and at $100, it wasn't cheap but lower than many. My friend is now their...

Be sure to check out the array of restaurants along the strip mall. The only drawback of Moore Lake Plaza is that there is nowhere to sit down. No bench, chair or...
