Phoenix Games — Local services in Fridley

Before today I have always had good experiences with the store, so I am very confused with what happened today.

I brought in a mix of March of the Machine cards as well as older cards.

The owner was there and had okayed everything to be priced (he had handed off the March of the Machines collected box the cards were in to the nearest employee) and so I got food next door, came back and waited for a quote from the other employees.

The owner then left before the quote was done.

After an hour and a half, I got a total. In the spirit of haggling, I asked for a couple more dollars. I regret that choice. The employees then went and got a manager who had not been present this entire time.

That manager then told me they could not take the cards since they did not want to buy cards from the new set yet....even though this was APPROVED by the owner, even though stores could now buy and sell the new set, even though less than a third of the cards I was selling were from the new set, even though the employees had already sleeved, priced everything and had a quote in hand.

I asked if there was any way to make this work and the only thing they offered was I could keep the sleeves and come back weeks from now for them to be priced.

The manager not only wasted my time, but also the employees time who were appraising. I am confused why the owner allowed the pricing to happen only for a manager to erase everything that was done. Not a good look for staff to contradict each other.

I am keeping it from being 1 star because the employees who priced did so quickly, accurately, and effectively for the quantity of cards I brought in, and I am sorry their work was nullified.

I think I'll wait more than a few weeks to come back.

Let me start off by saying I'm not a card player or collector, I'm a flipper. I buy then trade in what is valuable,old or new. That being said, I've been going to the shop for over a year and they have always been nice but today completely changed my view in the people running the store...

I went in to get my cards valued and it was only about 10 cards. Newer sets from MTG and Pokemon. Manager told me that since they were from the newer sets that he wouldn't want to take them until the market goes down... Which he has never told me before.. so after he said that I decided to go literally across the street and trade them in.

I don't know what I was going to be offered at this store, but let's just say I got more that a fair trade in for my cards from them and not you. Case and point, you have lost a customer. I will never be back in your store,and from this point will tell people to avoid going...
