I recently visited Arugula Market in Fullerton and had a mixed experience. While the market has been around for quite some time, there were a few concerns that affected my overall impression.
One of the issues I noticed was a high turnover rate among the staff. It seemed that a significant number of the original employees had left, and new workers were constantly being hired. This resulted in a lack of familiarity and consistency in customer service. During my visit, I encountered a new employee at the meat counter who was rather rude. Despite my polite inquiry about the available meat options, their demeanor towards me was unpleasant. Consequently, I decided to take my business elsewhere, as it appeared that many other customers had also expressed similar dissatisfaction.
Additionally, there were instances where attention to detail and cleanliness were lacking. I observed workers handling money, scratching their hair, and then proceeding to prepare sandwiches or tacos without proper hygiene practices. This raised concerns about food safety and sanitation. It is essential for the staff to be aware of the importance of cleanliness and to maintain clean aprons while handling food items.
Despite these drawbacks, I must acknowledge that Arugula Market offers the best carnitas I have ever had. The quality of their carnitas is exceptional and worth mentioning. However, it is crucial for the market to address the issues mentioned above to ensure a consistently positive experience for customers.
In conclusion, my experience at Arugula Market Fullerton was a mix of both positive and negative aspects. The market should focus on improving customer service by providing adequate training to new employees and emphasizing the importance of hygiene practices. By addressing these concerns, Arugula Market has the potential to regain the trust and loyalty of its customers.

Read moreAfter searching for "Mexican food near me" I found this little market.
The market is well cared for and the produce looks like something you would find in Whole Foods, but with better prices.
I ordered the chile verde plate which came with pork in sauce, homemade tortillas, rice, beans, pickled carrots, and limes.
The tortillas are the best I've ever had. They look and taste completely different from tortillas in the store and in most Mexican restaurants. They're made on site.
The pork was tender and delicious. It had a little fat and cartilage in it but easy to navigate.
The chile verde sauce is really flavorful. Just a bit salty but very good.
The beans and rice were okay.
The service was excellent. There is a little, covered patio outside for eating.
Recommended and I plan to return and try the enchiladas,...
Read moreWell I'm not sure if I got treated fairly. I'm an Italian who went in this Mexican grocery market, and when I went to one of the cashier's to pay for my items well they sent me to another on the other end of the store. That was after a patron paid for his stuff at that register also , so I head over there only to have a Mexican lady cut in front of me and she had more groceries than my two cervesas. During and after she was all rung up and should have headed home , the cashier and the lady spoke in Spanish for almost twenty minutes, it felt like eternity . I should have walked out and got cervesas elsewhere which would have saved Mexican grocery store from a not so good score. It was a bit rude on both the ladies, but the cervesas we're very good . Gracias...
