Great Oaxaca Food spot!! My 1st time in here and I was overwhelmed a bit with the huge selection of food plate options. Place is quite small but believe me brother when I say the food is very tasty! The ordering process is the usual order your drink, get chips, & spicy salsa(chile de arbol salsa), & wait for your food. I ordered the Fried Tasano with onions plate with rice, beans, and handmade torillas alongside with a pineapple drink DELISH!!! I also liked the vibe I got from the table cloths, painting on the wall, and Oaxaca Style music made me feel in a safe at home or family gathering atmosphere! Nice touch, they had an elderly man playing his guitar and singing when I came in. Very kind woman that took my order. Delicious food! Great place for big or small crowds, family, friends..etc. They also have a Panaderia (mexican sweet bread), selection of ice cream, & choice to buy meat, chicharon, handmade tortilla like a supermarket!! Unbelievable!! Definitely coming back here for 2nds!

This place is a little hidden in a very small plaza. You will need slow down a lot to find this place. The place is clean and very Ma&Pa. I can see many locals coming in & out. My friend and I came here for dinner. It wasn't too busy and we both ordered black mole & tamale. I was excited to try it because I saw Mark Weins had tried authentic Black Mole in Oaxaca and it looked amazing. The mole is very dark and it tasted very rich & tasty. I added a little salsa on top and it was even better. The tamale wasn't bad. The corn and meat inside was fresh and moist. We also tried the Chilacayota drink and it was refreshing & not too sweet. They also serve hand made tortillas which is always a bonus.

The food was ok, not the best, but better than the other places, but the service terrible, the worst, this lady adriana i dont know why she is working there, she doesnt have any skills on service, she tries to work on 2 tables an the same time, but she doesnt know what she is doing, i got my food on different times, when i have my last dish the first plate was already cold and then she never comeback, i hope she gets some kind of trainee on customer service.

Update 4/2024 There is another round of new waitresses and the service has gone downhill dramatically. Let me begin by saying that my family and I have been coming for years. I would say 10+ years. We loved coming and the food and experience was great but now its sad to see what it has become. Waitress today was non accommodating, snappy, and made it clear that she didn't want to be there. We didn't enjoy our meal because of her.

She didn't come check on our table at all, we had to keep flagging her down. We had to ask for utensils because we weren't provided enough, and napkins bc they only gave 2 for the whole table. As for our drinks, in the past, our waitress would come by and ask if we would like another drink. The waitress today, like mentioned before, didn't stop by at all. Even when we were finished she didn't remove the plates that were obviosuly finished and stacked for her. Despite the poor and lacking service, we still left a tip, but she did not deserve one. She only took our order which was wrong too and missing things, and thats it.

Also, she was very judgemental and offensive. When I mentioned she was non accommodating, it was because I don't eat meat, and before our waitresses have been happy to change up my order. This waitress today said that they couldn't replace chicken for huitlacoche. I wanted an enchilada by way. If y'all don't know how easy it is to change this order then please listen, tortilla, add filling, in my case huitlacoche, roll up, add mole. Done. She said they were not able to do so. Fine, ill do it myself, we ordered enchiladas, no chicken, and an order of huitlacoche, waitress then says, "thats going to be extra". Obviously we know it will be extra, we have been here longer than her. It is common sense too when you order a side of something it will be extra. She kept repeating this various times because we always add Tasajo and other things to our family's plates. She kept saying it over and over. We. Get. It.

Then to top things off, she didn't bring out my order of huitlacoche. We asked for it again and she said, in a snappy attitude, we never ordered it and it wasn't on the order. We said we did but asked for it again. It wasn't good, it was bitter, and there was more sweetcorn that actual Huitlacoche.

Again, we are not just some random folk that ocassionally come by, we have been coming here for MANY YEARS, we have made connections with previous waitresses, the owners, and other people here over the years. We always recommend and bring friends and family here because the food is good but the Service has gone down severely. You don't feel that connection anymore. You just feel like a number to them.

Also as for food quality, portions are smaller, price went up about $1-2 per plate. The tortillas a no longer hand made, you get generic. The only way to get hand made is by telling them you only want hand made. In the past, they were always hand made.

Do a better job at picking your staff. Could here some staff behind the counter just laughing and talking about Tiktok too.

Also, you are no longer allowed to use their in-building restroom. You are given a keh and have to walk to another building in the strip mall/plaza to use the restroom. Update: Experience doesn't feel the same as before. New waitresses too so some connection is gone. Will update again. Food is still good but I think less than before, and at prices about $15+

Food always tasty! Vegans, you always have the option to build your own plate too! Just ask nicely :). I ordered a Memelita with avocado, beans, tomato, onion, and lettuce.

Me encanta comer aquí! Excelente lugar para comer en familia, y también si sos Vegano os podéis diseñar su propio platillo! Recomiendo...

We went to dinner here for the first time. We had a total of 6 people. My wife and I walked in first and the waitress grabbed some menus to sit us down. We let her know it was 6 of us and she walked away without saying anything. We thought they were going to put some tables together for us but we ended up waiting over 15 minutes to be seated. Mind you there was like 6 tables empty. Another lady said they would be right with us and we still had to wait. When they finally gave us a table it was a table for 4 and they added to chairs at the end. I asked if they could add a table to give us more space and the lady seemed annoyed and walked away saying something under her breath. We finally got our table and they came to ask for our order pretty quick. They missed one of our drinks but I wasn’t really in the mood to complain after the experience so I ended up asking for a water. Food was alright, nothing out of this world. But service really needs improvement, after we got our food they never came to our table to ask how we were doing or if we needed anything else. No refills were offered. The waitress seemed annoyed the entire time and if you asked for something she would barely acknowledge you and walk away. Definitely will not...

I expected more from this authentic restaurant. My experience here was not great the food was OK not as authentic it should be.

I ordered a plate and they brought me something different I told them this was not what I had ordered and said it was. Arguing that I didn’t order correctly and they were not willing to change my order. I also ordered some fried quesadillas which did not look like the menu. They just look like regular tortillas with cheese and not only that, the cheese was burned and the fried tortilla was extremely hard (see picture. Not a happy consumer. And would not recommend this place and I would not go back.

Not only that. They are not willing to accommodate you. I asked the staff if I can have a bigger table because we were 10 people and they just said that the tables they had were RESERVED. Ask twice and got the same answer. Those tables had a reserve sign and since we got there and still had the Reser sign when we left. No one had came at all. 😡my family had to eat on one small table it was really...
