Zombee Donuts — Restaurant in Fullerton

This spot has the most delicious donuts!!! They are so light and fluffy with lots of flavor and options, and extremely creative!! I personally am a huge fan of their VEGAN selections, but there is something for everyone here. My family and I have always had exceptionally wonderful customer service experiences here, which is another reason why we keep coming back. Today was Memorial Day, so we were headed to a big BBQ and I wanted to share Zombee with all my friends. I called the day before to make sure they would be open and during what times (otherwise I would have stopped in during their Sunday hours). Unfortunately when my son and I arrived, they were closed and there was a sign on the window reflecting holiday hours. The gentleman inside apologized profusely. I was bummed because i was told they would be open and I had driven 12 miles, and my son was sad he wasn't getting "the best maple bar ever" (his words). As we were getting in our car, the gentleman who worked there came out and handed my son a box of donuts. I was so shocked and it melted my heart beyond words. My son's face LIT UP. The gentleman was back in the door before I could try to pay him. This was an extreme act of kindness that is so deeply appreciated, and I am not sharing it because I got something for free or because I expect anyone else to. As a service industry worker myself, I was very touched by this level of exemplary customer service. I fully intend to pay this back by continuing to be a loyal patron of this small business. I had a good experience at Zombee Donuts. It is pretty warm there. I guess because they have rise the dough. The place gives me “a home away from home” vibes. I had a coffin bar for four dollars. The chocolate was rich and dough did not have an oily aftertaste. Service was great. I originally picked up four random donuts. I got a glazed with chocolate spider, one that tasted like a lemon bar, glazed with blue and orange sprinkles, and a double chocolate cake donut with chocolate cereal. Me and my brother split the four, I really enjoyed my lemon bar donut. Had a nice balance of sweet and tangy. The dough was soft and had a nice crisp edge to it. The glazed with the chocolate spider was good. The chocolate adds a nice contrast to the glaze and the glaze was not overpowering. I was expecting the spider to be stuffed with crème or a jelly. Service was super friendly, but they did not have paper towels restocked in the bathroom. I will come back just...
