Galena Canning Company — Attraction in Galena

Our first trip to Galena and we were actually excited to check this place out but we will not be coming back after today. Walked in to try find an employee and ask if they are pet friendly but didn’t see one so I told my wife to put our 10 pound dog in a carrier and come in. A young kid immediately came around the corner and said she had to leave which is fine but in front of other customers starts talking down to me, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL! Asking me what I was thinking and nowhere allows dogs, why would we think it’s ok to bring a dog in, in a condescending tone like he’s scolding me! We have also been to plenty of places here that have been dog friendly and again being our first time in Galena we had no idea which stores are. We had no problem leaving but this kid was rude which was uncalled for, all he needed to say is we can’t have dogs in here. Just left a really bad impression, turned around and walked out. We can spend our money...

Nice store. Very disappointed with how I was treated by associate. Large jar of raspberry salsa was stocked where smaller jars were supposed to be. When I went to pay and saw the price I questioned the associate and she said “the price you saw was for the smaller jar”. I politely told her that the were no smaller jars there and they should move the big jars to avoid surprising customers. She said that’s because they were out of the smaller jars. I then went back and moved the larger jars to spare future customers from being misled. Within a minute that same associate went back and put the larger jars in the area above lesser price. It seemed like the “errant” stocking was done intentionally to dupe customers. I will not...

If you liked taste testing, you'll think you're in sampling heaven! The number of samples borders on decadent - everything from sweet and spicy mustard to savory and super spicy salsa. A great selection of delicious jams, dips, dressings, and killer peanuts to boot! I ate so many pretzel sticks, when my husband asked later in the day if I wanted to buy a bag of pretzels, I said, "You've got to be kidding!" They let you taste to your heart's content ... as long as you buy at least one thing, which you really need to do after partaking of all those...
