Discovery Depot Children's Museum — Attraction in Galesburg

I’ve been to Discovery Depot a handful of times. It is an amazing museum that both my 4 year old and 15 month old absolutely love. The exhibits are unique and the museum is clean and organized. However, I’m very sad to report that they are extremely lax with COVID mitigation efforts. We went early in the week and majority of both kids and parents were unmasked. I went in behind a family of 4 school age kids and parents who were all without masks, as they checked in staff did not even encourage them to mask. Also, there are no masking requirements posted upon entry. Very disappointed as this goes against current state guidelines and my children are both too young to be vaccinated. Will unfortunately be waiting to go back until after pandemic is more under control and will be supporting other local museums to better...

If it's been a few years since you've been here, its totally remodeled and a thousand times better. Fantastic place to bring your kids, indoors and out, lots to see and do. They now have little mockups of a bank, grocery store, pizzeria, vet clinic to name a few. There is even an art center inside as well as model ferris wheel, farm simulator and wind generated learning stations. Outside you'll find a playground and a train car complete with radio so you can hear real radio traffic from local BNSF railroad. They also have summer programs that reach kids about various fun things like, fashion, secret agent creating etc. Truly something for kids of all ages. Believe it's $6 per kid per day, or yearly memberships are like $100, completely worth it. They have a small area to sell gifts and toys and snacks....

I’m a member and yesterday was the second time having my daughter’s birthday party at this location. Was not satisfied with the employees. Very rude and even a little, clueless. Room we rented was so dirty that we were wiping everything down when we got there. With water, cause there was no cleaning supplies available. They supply tacks for hanging decorations; handed me maybe 7 and most were too big and wouldn’t even stick in the board. My daughter always has fun here and that’s what really mattered.
