I give the facility (2) stars only for the fact! They provide shelter, food, & depending on CNA assigned! Fair care to a loved one! Considering all the clients on their workload! The food is garage, as is the attention of upper management & owner! To the needs of providing proper therapy & means of rehabilitation! To those clients that are sent to the facility! In need of obtaining & solely for that reason! The nurse's can only do for, & provide! From what ownership is asking & giving staff to work with in meeting client's needs! My friend was sent their after breaking her ankle! To rehab, & regain ability! To get around at the least with use of walking cane! On her own as she had did prior to breaking her ankle! It has now been (6) years she's been in their care! Now she is confined to getting around in wheelchair, wears diapers, overweight, & basically at this time! No longer can care for herself on her own! Not long ago they moved her to their retirement center next door! Without making sure there was proper equipment in place to accommodate her health & general care! So both facilities are owned & ran by same ownership! Ownership rates 1/2 star! Based on their general neglect of the nurse's, staff, & residing client's living there in their care! Ownership is worst than the old LA Clippers owner,...
Read moreMy dad had no choice. His insurance did not cover his rehabilitation needs, therefore, he was immediately discharged from the hospital and transferred to the Gardena Convalescent Center. Needless to say, we were extremely upset because we were not consulted or asked as to where we would like for him to be transferred. However, the members, of the Gardena Convalescent Center, staff were pleasant and attentive to my dad. When we told them that we wanted to have him transferred to the VA Community Living Center, they did everything within their power to help us with coordinating the transition and for that, we are extremely grateful. I would like to stress that no one should assume that their loved ones are being attended to 100% at any facility. It is our responsibility to check in and ensure that the staff does what they are supposed to and attends to our requests. It is my prayer "Lord, allow all facilities and services to have staff members who are attentive, display love and compassion to the loved ones of families all over the world, who are in need of healthCARE......
Read moreStaff us always very helpful & courteous. My relative has been there at least 5 years. I try to visit him as often as I can. The nurses and day staff are very professional. Whenever I bring issues to their attention they take care of it. Paula, Elsa, Angelica and few others that I have interacted with are very caring and friendly. I appreciate the care they give. They bring to my attention any changes or issues about my relative. I don’t know anything about the night staff so I can’t comment on them. I pray they are as caring as the staff that’s there during the day. Also the facility is always clean and patients seem to be pretty well groomed. I appreciate the emails that keep me informed about Covid issues within the facility and visitation rules. Honestly I have been to other facilities that were much worse. I’m thankful my relative is here. No place will be perfect. It’s the responsibility of family members & friends to check in on their loved ones to make sure they are receiving the care they need. If not they need...
