Redondo Beach Motel — Hotel in Gardena

Check in was horrible i arrived around 4pm just for the fd to tell me that my reservation was cancelled due to non payment (mind you i had made this reservation months ahead to lock in a good price) i had told them i made my reservation thru expedia it was prepaid meaning i was going to pay when i arrived they asked me to call expedia where i booked it from i called and they saw my reservation on good standing but didnt know why the hotel was refusing to check me in after an hour of being on the phone with expedia they finally gave me a room but the fd said i had to pay the weekend rate i told her theres no way i got a good quote from Expedia and that’s what im expecting to pay they had to honor it! i had ex on the phone the whole time so they heard everything these crooks were saying so they told me to pay whatever amount they were asking for and i was going to be issued a refund for the difference which i did a few days later.. do not make reservations to this hotel they would try to change the price when you arrive very dishonest and on top of that girl at the desk was catching an attitude as if it was my fault. Never staying here again bad service...

Located in Gardena and called "Redondo Beach Motel" due to being on Redondo Beach Blvd, it has seen much better days. Secureable by deadbolt, clean linens, working A/C, good hot water, ceiling mirror, about a dozen cable channels, including a free porn channel I didn't watch. It's liveable, but it's the far opposite end of the spectrum from a luxury establishment. The best way to approach places like this is probably to insist on a preview of the room, and then try to haggle over price if you still think you could hack staying there. Good location with Vons supermarket, large 99 Cents Only dollar store, restaurants, shopping, 24 hour Walgreens and Rite Aid, and more within walking distance. But it's a real dump. Would not stay here again unless it was dirt cheap. Owner seemed like a nice guy, well intentioned and I feel kinda bad for him, as he is probably struggling to provide a good place at a good price, and it's probably much tougher to do that than one...

Booked this motel through Expedia then when we arrived at 1030pm were advised Expedia had cancelled the reservation. I was never notified by Expedia of any cancellation. In fact, when I booked the room had received an email from "Kevin the manager" at RB Motel asking what time we planned to arrive to which I responded 1030-11pm. When I asked the clerk to show me the email or notification from Expedia where they had cancelled the room he admitted to lying about that and that he had run my credit card and it had declined so he cancelled the reservation and now they were sold out and I should contact Expedia for a refund. Why he ran my card after I paid Expedia I don't know. After an hour and half on the phone with Expedia they finally refunded me and found me another room (much nicer) in the area. All could have been avoided if RB Motel hadn't decided to do something unecessary then lied about it. I will never ever book this...
