EDIT TO BELOW REVIEW:

After CC's response to my review, I wanted to take the opportunity to say a huge THANK YOU! Your response was within an hour of me posting my original 2 star based on the service we received on our original visit.

I absolutely understand that finding staff to work on a holiday is tough and I'm happy you guys were open. We did enjoy the products we purchased, some scallops, large prawns, cocktail sauce, and bay shrimp.

Your response tells me that the service we received during our NYE visit was outside the norm and we'd be happy to return when we make it out that way in the future. Thank you again and I hope you have a great 2024!

My friend and I went there on NYE. We decided on Captains Corner because of the large amount of positive reviews.

When we arrived, we were met with a guy that seemed like he didn’t really want to be there. We asked if the seafood was caught locally and were just met with a “no”. No other information, just nothing. The tone seemed like he was annoyed by the question, and it’s one that I thought to be legitimate. The remainder of the interaction was just awkward and like he wanted us out of his shop as quickly as possible.

I’m giving 2 stars because the seafood was good, but I found the service to be rude, impatient, and ungrateful. There are so many places to shop for seafood in that area. When we return to the coast, we will give our business to...

While shopping in Tillamook, an employee recommended this place to me, and I found it by searching for "Live crab" on Google Maps. Although I initially planned to catch crabs myself at Jetty Fishery, considering the rental and license costs, I decided it would be better to buy crabs here and cook them myself. The price of $12.99 per pound was very reasonable, so I asked various questions while examining the place. It had a clean kitchen, well-prepared dining area, and just the right beverages like beer and wine, perfect for enjoying seafood. The outdoor dining area was also excellent. Since the price for live and cooked crabs was the same, I bought cooked crabs—one for takeout and the other as part of the $25.00 crab basket package. The garlic butter sauce was well-balanced, and the cocktail sauce was excellent. The accompanying rosemary bread was delicious. After shopping in Seaside, I revisited the place to buy more crabs and had a conversation with Chris, a former restaurant chef who was quiet, kind, and attentive. It's a friendly, delicious, and reasonably priced place, and I highly recommend it. This special spot made my trip along the beautiful Oregon coast even...

2 stars because they were very friendly. I asked when the crabs were cooked and was told “yesterday.” I had them back and clean my 2 and a half lb crab which I tipped 2 dollars for. I drove the hour home with my $30.75 prize wrapped in ice. I couldn’t wait so I unwrapped my very yellow crab; yes, yellow! It was so stained from sitting in poo juice that the entire crab was tinted yellow along with all the meat. (See photos) I was thinking it would just be the outside but the meat was yellow all the way through. This takes more than just a day to happen. I say this from 40 years of crabbing. I could say a lot about this great disappointment, like, the lack of pride in Oregon and an Oregon product. For them to charge 12 dollars a pound for 3 day old crab really gets me. At least pull the backs off so the meat doesn’t turn yellow and taste just like it looksIf. There was no sweetness to this crab. This crab was once a good crab, so you could luck out and come on the day or day after it was cooked but I would not trust it unless I sampled...

One star for the friendly service and another for the pupper roaming around. With all the positive reviews, I was looking forward to some delicious crab and chowder. What we got was cold, bland crab and watery "chowder" that we had to dump salt and pepper in to give it any flavor. I'm okay with a chowder thats considered "thinner," but this was straight up water consistency. We've had good amount of crab and this was the most flavorless, yellow meat I've ever tasted. We had to rely on the garlic butter to make it taste any bit good. It was pretty busy, but to wait about an hour for food that wasn't "cooked to order" was pretty crazy. People that ordered after us received their food and were completely done eating long before ours was brought out. Was super disappointed. If we didn't live so far, definitely would have just gotten some crabs from the market and cooked them up at home.
