As a proud Black attorney, my recent experience in your establishment has underscored the persistent issue of racially motivated bias that individuals face, regardless of their achievements or status. Last weekend, I entered your store dressed in casual attire and was immediately subjected to uncomfortable interactions. It became apparent that each employee approached me with excessive frequency, which I perceived as a calculated effort to expedite my departure from the premises. The lack of a welcoming atmosphere was palpable, and the tension during each interaction was undeniable.
Furthermore, I noted that I was not the sole patron in the store; however, I was the only Black man present. This raises significant concerns regarding the treatment of customers of color within your establishment. We stated that they could check the cameras to see he walked into the store with a hat on. The employee sold the same hat he was wearing so not only did she take his hat which can be an honest mistake however as an employee at a sports store you can clearly see that it was a worn hat, but scanned a brand new hat and gave the customer a hat without the tags on and worn. Then proceeded to state that the inventory is correct. So now this store is selling used items that they took from another customer. Looked in the original bag and checked my wallet and there was no receipt. Thinking back to the original transaction I was never given a receipt. I explained to the associate I didn't receive a receipt but I have the shirt with tags attached and the credit card used to purchase it. She said it wasn't possible I didn't receive a receipt.
