One star is too much, no stars would have been more appropriate for the manner in which my family has been treated the past two encounters in store. Walking in to Michael's, you usually feel welcomed, which was not the case when I entered with my two children and husband. An older female staff member with glasses and the Micheals uniform vest looked at us up and down as we walked in, and walked away. Her demeanor was very irritable and unwelcoming. Which was telling, given we could not find anyone when we needed assistance throughout our 20 min visit. It almost gave the impression that avoiding customers was going to be the trend. The last time encounter we had was when I asked my husband to pick up an order I made online. He was unfamiliar with the process and asked the younger female staff member with glasses at the counter, and the answer he recieved with a very condescending and rude answer of "its on the side". When he tried to retrieve the order to some locker on the side, the staff member raised her voice, yelling "Sir, do not touch that. I will ask some one to help you", embarrassing my husband in front of the other customers. He told her he did not understand her the first time, so yestThen she made it a point to repeat herself, attempting to belittle my husband further. Since then, we've made it a point to drive to the Round Rock location, where we have never felt any sort of hostility or demeaning behavior towards my husband or I, with or without children. There needs to mandatory customer service retraining, maybe even retraining on working with people of diverse backgrounds. Very disappointed, and we will never go back to this location, especially after they...
Read moreI recently had a HORRIBLE experience with the framing department at Georgetown Michael's. I took in 6 pieces of MY ORIGINAL ARTWORK for framing. I explained the labor and love I had put into a gift for my granddaughter on the birth of her baby. Joelleen assured she "would take good care of it". I commented when I picked it up that it didn't look right. When I unwrapped it for photos, I was shocked to see a wrinkle all along the right side of the art. It appeared to have been glued together sloppily. It should not have been glued or whatever was done that RUINED the art! When I spoke to the framing department manager, Sheree, on the phone, she said she could refund my money if I return the materials OR give me a 25% discount, and it'll be done in 1-2 days! Neither of these is satisfactory to the great grandmother of a baby BORN today who has spent a week recreating the artwork because a framer was having a bad day! I am beyond dissatisfied! I had to give this 1 star to post it. I would remove it if I could. Pick another place to have your special...
