The Cine1 here is pretty nice, I recently watched The Super Mario Bros movie in there and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3.
The place is clean, the seats are comfortable, it's sometimes a little cold in the theater but overall pretty good. The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 was quite loud at parts, ear piercing in some scenes, I had a friend with me there for that movie and he also agreed that some scenes in the Cine1 theater were way too loud. The Super Mario Bros movie was perfect, saw that with different friends.
The star is lost at unruly patrons in the theater, a family of three with a teenage daughter were sitting one seat over from my friend and I in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 movie (Cine1). They talked throughout the entire movie, from trailers all the way to the end credits scenes. The father had the most annoying laugh you've ever heard, and don't even get me started on the teenage daughter with absolutely zero manners. These parents put absolutely no effort into raising their child, apparently they were never taught manners themselves.
I went to talk to the manager about this after about 90 minutes into the movie, I just couldn't be that guy to say something - I probably would have made things worse. Anyways, the manager stops by after a few minutes, she comes in, stands in the corner, hears this dude's outrageous laughs for a couple moments, and then leaves. She just doesn't stay and wait for him to start talking, or if she would have just waited a few more minutes other patrons in the theater were turning their heads to check what the heck was going on.
I get it, people laugh, but The Super Mario Bros movie I saw during the morning hours had like 50 kids that were better behaved then these 3 in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 movie. So, understandably I was not happy when we were just forced to endure unruly patrons (5/17/2023 - 6pm showing in Cine 1 - Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3). That pretty much means I have to rewatch the movie in the theaters or wait for it to release before I can rewatch it without interruptions every 12 seconds.
Other than that, pretty good theater. Will still come back, even if management doesn't stick around that much. The Estrella Falls location in Goodyear is still my favorite Harkins, unfortunately its on the other side...

We were extremely confused and informed her that we did not do this. When I explained to the woman worker that it was not true and asked if she would check surveillance before kicking us out, we were told that cannot be done and that we still needed to leave. After that we went and spoke to guest services and informed the male working there with the glasses what was going on and that we were wrongfully being asked to leave, he was extremely rude as well. He informed us that multiple people (the girl behind us and her father) had come and complained and that we still had to leave. When I told him that I had also seen the girl and her father who had complained on their phones, he said that they would check the surveillance after we left and then kick them out if it were true. Why were the employees so quick to believe the person behind us lying, and why wouldn’t they just verify with the surveillance before kicking us out? They just assumed we were lying, and took the other persons word for it instead of us. Guest services did nothing after I said that the girl who complained was also on her phone, yet kicked myself and my sister out the second she went and lied to them that I was recording the movie. What is the protocol for this? Why were the employees too lazy to just check the surveillance? It seems there is an extreme lack of training for the employees at this location. We paid to see a movie, did nothing wrong, and were berated and demanded to leave without any search for explanation or proof of what we were being accused of. HIGHLY do not recommend going here, the employees were so belittling and disrespectful, and did not listen to anything we tried to say. When I asked if they would be kicking the girl who lied about us out too because we saw her on her phone, the man in the glasses told me if I kept “arguing” I would no longer get a refund. I seriously cannot believe...
Read moreThis seems to be more of a social gathering than a place of employment.... first the ticket booth people were completely ignoring me as I waited in line and it wasn't until I walked up to a window and initiated conversation did the teller look at me with disgust as I had interrupted their conversation and in turn would cause them to perform the job they were tasked to. ...the ticket taker was good no problems there...... but again..... the concessions looked and sounded like a high school cafeteria as the employees were sipping on their drinks and talking about weather or not "Employee A" saw the cute outfit "Employee B" wore to the recent gathering. For at least 3 minutes we "the customers" looked at each other in confusion no knowing if we should interrupt or wait for the welcoming "How can I help you" from behind the counter. Adittionally as I was walking to the theater I witnessed what looked to be a manager (wearing a business jacket ) having his own social gathering laughing and carrying on not delegating tasks but instead talking about his experience with 4x4ing...at this point this comment seems kind of pointless since even the management seems to be in, on the social gathering attitude of this particular theatre and with that being so; I'm sure this comment will most likely fall on ears to preoccupied with what ever unimportant social gathering or event is...
