My husband and I full-time RV and live in a 2006 Fleetwood American Eagle (which is awesomely immaculate pristine) and pull a 30ft custom car trailer to haul our 2013 Ford F150 and mountain bikes.||In December, we began planning our 2019 summer tour and decided to head West this year. 1. We met in Alameda, CA while both stationed at NAS Alameda and married in 1994. 2. In 1997, we attended Hootie and the Blowfish concert at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View CA and my husband surprised me with tickets to Hootie and the Blowfish this June at Shoreline Amphitheater... how cool is that! We planned to stay in Gilroy for a month at the Gilroy Garlic USA RV Park and sight-see the area; Santa Cruz, South Bay, San Francisco, etc... and reminiscence when we were stationed in the area. ||We contacted the park, explained what we were doing, etc... submitted pics of our rig & trailer... no worries as Betty is gorgeous and that is exactly what they told us upon receipt of the pics and that we would have no issues getting in as some RV parks have age/looks requirements for the coaches. We made reservations on Dec 10th for arriving July 2 through August 3rd and were provided instructions to to complete a background check since we would be staying over 30 days. We paid the $40 fee and were approved... yay!... as if there would be a problem... Ha! I wish that TripAdvisor allowed me to submit pics on this review.||Today, we received a call from Gilroy Garlic USA RV park that they were cancelling our reservation because of the age of the coach and logistics of parking the trailer. Wha????? Coaches tow trailers and vehicles all the time... The woman was very nice and apologetic but still... what the heck! My husband mentioned he didn't understand as we had been previously approved. She stated that "new" management has a minimum year for the coach which is now 2009. Really!?? My husband asked did the new management see the pics of Betty and she yes but unfortunately they are sticking to the 2009 and newer age requirement.||Since we had already been approved before the new management I feel that we should have been allowed to stay in the name of good customer service.... but alas we were booted. So now we have to start the search over but at least we have more than enough time.||She did refund the $40 for the background check but we are simply dumbfounded by this. Dumbfounded!! I have two marks (poor) instead of one (terrible) because we have enough time to relocate and we were refunded else I would have rated with one...

Read moreThis is a hidden gem ! We had issues with Space & sadly the lady in the office could not help , we had to sit & wait 5 hours for Sunny to return - He immediately came to our spot, vs me crutching my way again as I just had knee replacement .He went back & called right away and gave us a spot AND I’d allowing us to park in overflow overnight - apparently those are avail 5 pm - 8am . The spot it perfect , we got our slide outs & room for me to crutch about the area - one of the things I appreciate is how they refuse to write some any passwords - thet send to email as they don’t want transients coming in, & right now , that IS IMPERATIVE. Not sure if Sunny owns or manages , however he gets it done & SUPER KIND & UNDERSTANDING! He didn’t need to make any concessions, yet he did in the name of great service; even getting us a second week I have yet to mosey as, I’m kind of handicapped at the moment , what I did see driving through was beautiful - there are dog runs & beautiful large tree with nice grassy area to sit with your pup - I HIGHLY recommend this resort & HOLY SMOKES , you are close to EVERYTHING , within walking distance; groceries, Super Walmart , restaurants, target , Barns & Noble ,literally everything you need and didn’t know you needed until …you’re good to go , all kinds of RV sales & service also close .
*WE JUST BOOKED ANOTHER TWO WEEKS HERE * we are members at 1000 Trails , however since the reopening after the flood of March - they have new management & they are simply NOT service oriented- I would rather PAY to stay at this amazing location than to go there . While we aren’t offered the space we were in, she got us another spot , with a recent knee repl this sort of stinks , packing up & moving , but I am GRATEFUL she was able to get us in - OF ALL the RV spots we have been to , & it’s been a lot , this one by far...
