Mammoth Cave Discovery Tour — Attraction in Glasgow

The self guided discovery tour was perfect for my family with two young children. We were able to go at our own pace without having to worry about keeping up with a guided tour group or making it to the end of a longer tour. I carried my youngest in a forward facing carrier (the only types allowed in the cave) and my toddler was able to walk through most of the cave unassisted. There are many steps at the beginning and end of the tour, and though the path is well lit, there may be issues for some with walkways, as they are not always even. My bad review does not reflect on the tour itself. Mainly because we didn’t get ours. Made reservations 2 weeks in advance. I drove to Nashville the day before my tour. Proceeded to drive a hour and a half to the visitor center and they were closed due to down trees. Granted, the storm…not their fault. What upset me was how poorly the closure was handled. I only received a email the evening before my tour ,which who checks their email frequently on vacation? I do believe a phone call would have saved me and my family a lot of stress. I would have even taken a mass text to be alerted of the closure. Overall I’m just upset we didn’t know till we got there and all my efforts to have a great birthday left me stuck in a car with a...
