We ate lunch and dinner here. VERY different experiences between the two.
After a long day of hiking and caving we were looking forward to a sandwich or something hardy for dinner. When we sat down we found they have two separate menus for lunch and dinner and dinner. No biggie but seems very strange to not offer ANY sandwiches for dinner.
The fried chicken was not fresh fried in a cast iron skillet as described it was reheated in an oven or airfryer - it had the soggy web marks on the bottom telling it was reheated on a wire rack. We were also only served one leg and a wing and not the leg and thigh as described on the menu - very disappointed.
Another member of my party had the smothered chicken - for 18 dollars he was served a piece of warm (not hot) chicken the size of a deck of cards with microwave melted cheese and onions that look like they'd been in a crock pot stewing instead of caramelized.
Dinner was very disappointing despite the friendly and attentive waitstaff. Paying nearly $75 dollars for clearly reheated food that isn't even trying to be as advertised is insulting.
Lunch was fantastic. The menu is large and the food was great. I would gladly recommend this place for lunch - big burgers, great wraps fair prices.
Overall you're a captive diner at the lodge so I'd suggest getting lunch and skipping dinner.
Advice for the owner - ditch the dinner menu. It's over priced and underwhelming. Whoever is running your dinner service clearly is either not up to snuff or doesn't care. If the owner is running dinner (or set the menu) I'd seriously reflect on the quality and offerings and think about stepping aside for a more experienced chef to run that service.
Look, everyone there has been hiking or caving all day. They don't want or need fine dining at 4PM - let them have a burger and if you're not going to do that at least have some respect and not charge big city prices for reheated, bland food that's advertised as...
Read moreOn our second visit there for the day, my toddler unfortunately got sick at the table. My husband made eye contact with several waiters who then went into the back to never return. I grabbed the used napkins from our table and began to clean up and console my daughter. My husband then had to unwrap silverware from another table for me so I could do what I could. My husband notified a waitress our daughter got sick, hoping for more napkins or a mop maybe. But, she just made a mean face and then all the staff was GONE. We had already paid, so I just cleaned up what I could then left because my daughter was crying, embarrassed, and needed cleaned up. We honestly did everything we could given the situation. An hour later I sent my husband into the building the resteraunt is in, for a new shirt as mine was gross now, and the staff pointed at him and made mean faces. I mean, tiny humans get sick and parents do the very best they can in those situations. But you know what makes a hard situation even worse when you’re far from home… people being mean over something like that. We won’t be back, and we’re leaving the park early now because we feel trapped...

Named for the river that flows for approximately 384 miles through south-central Kentucky, the Green River Grill was an ideal stop for visitors like us seeking to refuel after a day of cave exploration.
The menu featured an array of dishes that highlight local ingredients and flavors, from hearty breakfast options to satisfying lunch selections, and sadly limited for those who don’t eat meat or fish.
Upon arrival as first-timers, my partner, his family, and I waited a few minutes for a staff member to sit us down at the next available table in the dining room.
For starters, we opted for the Fried Mozzarella Cheese Curds. As our main entrees, we decided on the Portabella Sandwich accompanied by Fries and the other by Onion Rings, Lemon Pepper Trout, and Turkey BLT Wrap.
The food was delicious, full of flavor, and hit the spot. Prices were good given that there weren’t a lot of options we were used to in New Jersey. The service was friendly and attentive; our server was Michelle.
