Overall the trail is very well developed pathways with a fair amount of steps. There are several viewing areas to see the actual exit from the caves of the water and the entrance of the spring to the Green River. Only a little over 1.8 miles long in a loop configuration that starts and ends at the Visitor center and climbs 450 feet. Also saw the Dixon cave trail and entrance. Due to a cave-in the Dixon cave and Mammoth no longer are connected. We had our dog on a leash like several others and we have a relaxing stroll.

Pretty cool spot, very scenic. The geology and hydrology of the caves is intertwined with the springs, sinkholes and capstone rock strata. Fascinating stuff. It is a .4 mile hike over some hilly terrain but mostly downhill...getting back up is the challenge. The caves get all the glory at this park but the hiking trails deserve honorable mention.

Good trail. Moderately difficult hike with uneven terrain and hills. After seeing the spring (pretty, but not overly grand) we opted for the "short" route back to the Visitor Center. This was the most grueling part going up hill. Fortunately there was a cave entrance on the way back up, with a quick loop inside, and it cooled us down tremendously.

Beautiful trail to the river Styx springs. This is located just outside the mammoth cave discovery tour area within mammoth cave national park. The trail is moderate and beautiful as it surrounded by nature. The trail is unpaved. There is short boardwalk once you reach near to the river Styx springs. One can also access other trails from here like Dixon cave overlook trail which another beautiful but...
