I recently went to this location to purchase insulation for my attic. I looked at all of the options and found some insulation, per price tag, that had an R-30 value, covered ~56sqft per package, and proceeded to carefully stack 8 packages onto a cart. I carefully found my way to the cashier with my... TOWER of insulation... and the woman at the service desk agreed to ring me out. When she scanned it, it rang up at $75 a package, and I was certain that it was $35 a package. So she went with me to the isle and confirmed the price and the insulation I loaded came from the location marked $35 per package. When we got back to the register, the line at the service desk had started to grow, so she asked the cashier to ring me out, telling her that it was ringing up wrong. The cashier proceeded to tell me that they stocked it in the wrong location, and the price should be $75 a package. She then went on to say that if I wanted to go with the less expensive rolls I would have to put back my... Tower! of insulation, load my cart up with the less expensive stuff, and come back through the line. Having to pick up my daughter soon, I knew I did not have the time to... Restock their insulation and wait in the now growing line behind me. So I ask her... You stocked it in the wrong location correct? Yes... You Marked it inappropriately? Yes... What happened to... The customer is always right? and if you mark something inappropriately you have to give it to them at that price? She replies... That only works for food! Irate by her attitude, I decided to leave my cart right where is was, and let her take care of their... CONFIRMED... Mistake.
I will not be returning to this location, nor any other most likely if that is Home Depot's policy. Lastly, I have no problem paying the full price, money was not the issue, my goal was not to get more for less, my goal was to get what I needed for my home. I spent my time and effort to load up what I needed. At the VERY least they could have offered to bring out the insulation I thought I was purchasing quickly so I could have purchased what I intended, and still have time to pick up my daughter...
Read moreGot Hot water Heater installed through Home Depot on 6/13/22. A big mistake and headache. Home depot just refers to their independent contractor but I don't think they even monitor how do these independent contractors work. Let me inform you that I buy goods worth thousands from Home Depot every year but this is the first time I tried getting an installation service from them. Apparently what happens is that this plumbing contractor gives an estimate of total amount for the heater and installation without giving the breakdown of the cost of parts and labor. Since mostly the hot water heater installation is urgency due to leaking old heater, the heater was changed and when I asked for the details (Which they never provided me for several days), the manager/owner of N& J Plumbing Nicholas Roppo informed me that they charge a flat fee of $549 for installation on top of the parts that they buy from Home Depot. They had charged me much more for the cost of the hot water heater and also charged an extra $105 for the pan below the heater (A pan that costs between $10-$20 at the Home Depot) and also charged for the permit (Copy of the permit was never given to me even when I asked for it, So I dont know if it was ever pulled). I was overcharged for the hot water heater and installation by N&J Plumbing and not only that, after detailed discussion with Nicholas Roppo on the phone who admitted to charging me for a different model of the hot water heater and promised to refund about $305.73 that was overcharged, he later stopped responding to my phone calls. I have now submitted claim with the credit card company who are working to get me the refund. On top of it, after a couple of days, my credit card was charged $6.97 at Dunkin Donuts in Farmington Ct that is next to the office of N&J Plumbing and it was obvious that their employee who had my CC number charged my card. I had to get my CC cancelled. Home Depot needs to monitor their...
Read moreJust left Home Depot in Glastonbury. As a contractor, getting an early start for a project for early tomorrow morning, I decided to grab 10 bags of 60lbs of concrete until I can return with my work truck tomorrow. I have my 2 year old with me. I paid for the concrete and a few other things, I mentioned to the cashier if I could drive up and grab the bags that are on the other side of the store. He agrees and said someone will meet you over there to open the doors. I waited 10 minutes and had to walk back to the front of the store where I was "now" told that the doors are locked at 8pm and I would have to get the bags myself and bring them around.
The store closes at 10, it's 8:45pm, there are 5 employees, 4.females, 1 male at the front of the store. I'm not saying that they are not doing anything but how hard would it be to simply send one with the key and let me grab my 600lbs of concrete and let me load. Nope....to difficult. I asked for help since now I'd have to grab them from one end of the store and drag them around back to the same area where contractors load, where I am parked. Everyone turns their heads, one lady said "I have a bad back". I would definitely not let help me anyways, she looked like she was in pain.
I said never mind I'll get it myself. As I arrived the one guy who turned his head along with the other ladies, shows up. I told him I was all set. I honestly didn't want his help at this point.
Definitely am disappointed in Home Depot tonight. Fortunately I ran into a friend who watched my son while I walked the store to get my 600lbs of concrete. As for the lady in the mask who stood firmly against helping me, shame on you. If you don't like helping your customers you should find another line of work. Home Depot, you have work to be done with your employees and how they treat...
