My fiancé and I stopped in on a whim for lunch while running errands one Saturday. We sat at the bar and were promptly greeted by the bartender Kerra. She was super knowledgeable on the menu, genuinely kind, and gave us not one but TWO bowls of that delicious popcorn. The manager who expedited our apps and entrees was also very friendly and thanked us several times for coming in.
The most impressive part of our visit was the professionalism shown by both Kerra and the rest of the staff when verbally insulted by another guest that was also seated at the bar. The not-so-gentlemen was overly critical on the drink he ordered, insinuating the bartender was less than knowledgeable, jipped him of alcohol, and pressed on when she offered to remake it. The fact that we could hear this entire conversation from opposite ends of the bar, shows the truly awful character of the patron, but the flawless reaction from the staff.
We will be coming here again!! The food and service were top notch, and we got a free show of a man making a fool of himself.
Would have photographed meals, if I was a little less hungry and didn’t...
Read moreMy husband and I go to the Glastonbury 99’s either every Monday or every Tuesday with an exceptional experience and excellent servers. We went this week on Tuesday and we had a server who was so poor. She was an awful server. She was unfriendly she made us sit there and wait for our meal until the point that I had to get up and look for the manager. I told him that my husband and I have been sitting there for 30 minutes. We watched her serve people that came in after us Take drink orders for people that came out of us. She walked by his numerous times and never acknowledged us he was very apologetic and took care of us right away. He ought when the meat when he brought the meal to the meal was cold. The meat was dry. We had chopped sirloin steak. Everything was dry and lukewarm. We told him he wanted to get us two new meals, but we were on a time constraint. He said that the meals were on the house and he apologized again. Don’t get me wrong. The service there is always excellent. It was this one female server who should never be a server...
Read moreI worked at 99 Restaurant from 2002 to 2006, and I hadn’t eaten there since—until this year (2025). I was excited to return because I missed it so much, but unfortunately, my experience was very disappointing.
The food quality has changed drastically. I ordered pilaf rice, and it had no flavor—no salt, no seasoning at all. The bacon wasn’t cooked well, and everything tasted plain and unappetizing. It’s nothing like the delicious meals I remember from when I worked there.
My husband ordered the pasta with chicken and sausage, and it was just okay—nothing special. The sausage tasted like something from a basic supermarket, lacking any real flavor or quality.
The only highlight of our visit was the service. Our waiter was fantastic—respectful, professional, and well-educated in customer service.
Overall, I was really disappointed with the food and won’t be rushing back anytime soon. I hope they improve their recipes because 99 used to be...
