The city facilities personnel keep the park as clean as they can, but there are many vagrants who make this location their daily camp and dumping ground. After a long week- end, humans will have left all manner of rubbish, overflowing the waste bins, but by mid - day in the first day of the week, the parks crew will have things nearly pristine again. As of April 2017, they recently re-did the playground wood chips. Unfortunately, despite Glendale and LA County leash laws, lots of people let their dogs illegally off-leash, and though the parks department supplies pet waste bags, there will be occasional droppings in the grass. Read moreI got my kids food from In N Out and instead of eating inside and having our sensory system blasted by neon lights and the rumble of hungry masses, we chose to eat our fires in the park. I was happy to see a few homeless people having a safe place to exist in the park. It’s always a good moment to stop and explain to my kids that we are all humans and deserving of dignity and love despite our economic status. Seeing homeless people is also a good signal for me and my kids to stop and reflect on how grateful we should be for all that we have.
