El Rio Motel — Hotel in Glendale

It has much improved since the days when it was a sleazy hotel used by drug addicts and couples looking for a place to have a quickie. Although times have changed the constant harassment presence of The Glendale Police Dept and Drug Enforcement Units remain a constant reminder that you'd better think twice about staying in a place where you and your guest may be stopped questioned and detained until they are through with their witch hunt I mean investigation for anything that might resemble a controlled substance on you your person or vehicle. Since they designate the area a known drug trafficking area .I guess it gives them a right to violate all your civil rights as well as your privacy. I dont see how this or any business can change or flourish when these kind of activities by law enforcement leave the public with a negative impression and a false impression of what is really going on. Its not worth the hassle or the walking in fear of the blatant social profiling against the mentally disabled, poor,homeless that has been taking place for years now with impunity. Really its these types of businesses and its good people that are ending up taking losses and those trying to use a room for privacy for the evening that are the most affected by the needless waste of tax dollars being used by the GPD in the name of War on drugs. Leave these businesses, its customers and occupants alone and stop looking for something that is not there.Stop escallating simple stops into DUIs and Drug busts . Stop with the trampling of the supreme law of the land which you swore an oath to uphold. Stop getting in the way of private citizens to conduct commerce and make profits. You are interfering with business transactions between two private parties whom are protected by the UCC codes and punishable by 20 yrs imprisonment any police officer who interferes with two private parties...

El Rio provides the bare essentials, and it is a good deal based on the price. I would recommend this accommodation to those budget travels who want a certain level of comfort and cleanliness for a pretty good price. I comparison shopped around for prices, and it seemed to be one of the cheapest in that area, which is why I decided to take the risk and choose it for the night. ||||I rented a single bedroom with King Size bed. The building itself is a little old, but the rooms are well maintained and clean as well as pretty big. There seems to be a heater/AC unit, which I fully took advantage of. I am glad that motel had a huge parking lot for my truck, and I could look out the window to check on it. Inside the room, there were comfortable chairs and a table, a dresser and a place where I could hang my clothes. The bathroom is bare, however. It has a tub and shower; the sink area is pretty large, so I could put all my stuff on there. It seemed like a standard motel, providing the following: clean towels, little soaps and shampoo, plastic cups. ||||The motel offers high speed internet, but be warned, you should bring your own Ethernet cable. I forgot mine, but the office loans network cables for 10 dollars security deposit fee or something. The color television was a pretty decent size; it came with cable television, including HBO. ||||Within a block, there was a Ralph’s supermarket and a bunch of fast food restaurants, which was good. This motel is not for everybody though, but it’s perfect for those who want to save money on housing and get a clean, decent room. Overall, I was impressed with the quality given the price...

The motel is ok for the price, the woman manager can not handle the stress of her job. I lost my bank card, the woman was so impatient she would not allow me the time to go to bank and get money out to pay her, she said that I could come back with the money but get out the next day or leave now. I got the money and paid her, she made me leave the next day. I went back wanting to pay for 5 days in advance she continues to lie to me stating it is rented with no vacancies. They do have vacancies. She says she has severe headaches, get a new manager she is a stress cadet and loosing money by turning away paying business. I cause no problem to them I do not smoke and there is only me no noise or anything. She threw a fit because I lost my bank card and my battery was dead in the parking lot. She would not even allow me to use the toilet while waiting for the AAA auto club. The man is nice and reasonable but she is the boss. Get a new manager I did nothing wrong she is rigid and...
