Read moreDO NOT STAY!! COCKROACHES IN ROOMS!!!! My family and I stayed here for 3 nights, Oct. 15, 16, 17. When we initially arrived and checked in everything seemed good. The room appeared clean and the beds as well. The first morning we woke up and as we were getting ready for our day, we found a cockroach crawling on the top of the bed covers. I killed the bug and immediately went to the front desk. I spoke with the Manager Gary Gutierrez and showed him the bug in a napkin. He apologized and said he would comp my parking charge, and offered to move us rooms. He explained that with a hotel that has exterior doors to the room, that guest leave doors open and that is how the bugs get in. I assured him that we made sure the door was closed and will be extra diligent from here on. I accepted the room change and parking charge comp'd. The room we were moved to was smaller with the same beds and the AC was lacking its ability to keep the room cool. All that was something we could deal with as long as there were no cockroaches. The morning we were leaving, I found yet another cockroach in the new room and when I went back to speak with Mr. Gutierrez about it his response was "what do you want me to do about it, I already comp'd your parking". He explained that it is inevitable to keep them out of the rooms and as long as it was not "something serious" like bed bugs then there was nothing that could be done. I was completely blown away by his lack of concern that I chose to stay here with little expectations, but one being that there are not insects where I stay. This was the day we were to check out and I had already been charged for our stay, so I did not see any point in arguing with him. It is absolutely unacceptable to have insects of the such in any part of the business. My girlfriend and her son had symptoms of being bit. She had swelling of her eye lid and her son had multiple bites on his hands and arms.
I could not believe the service I received from management when i brought this to his attention and for him to down play the severity of the situation is flat out ridiculous and dishonest. If it is Cockroaches or Bed Bugs either one is a serious matter and need to be dealt with immediately. Guests should be comfortable that everything is being done to resolve the issue. But to say it is impossible to not have bugs in an outdoor hotel is insane! We are not talking about ants, flies, or mosquito's, those are minor insects to be expected.
I do not recommend staying at this location. It seriously needs leadership to come and do extensive cleaning and customer service training. Possibly explain to Mr. Gutierrez that is not acceptable to live...
