Primitive trail in the winter! Which I was hoping for… a challenging walk 👍🏻. However, as of this review (1/26/25) at least two trail maps do not have the “You Are Here” stickers on the signs. I had no idea where I was. There were smaller, less traveled trails that the locals must use, but quite confusing for a newcomer. Also, with Dewy Hill directly east, why was there no signage for that (other than the sign that read “Leaving Dewy Hill”)?

Very quiet when I came here late on a Sunday afternoon, not much wildlife or birds, there were some in the trees but very difficult to see but also wrong time of day. Paths are very well marked but mostly sand so some can be a bit hard going underfoot. I did find it very peaceful though despite the lack of action. There were some paper maps at the beginning but the trails are quite short so not difficult to navigate.

Not a very good spot for hiking. One of the loops we skipped because it had tall grass over the trail and we didn't want to pick up a tick. Some of the other trails were under water and most of the rest were all sand. Not very good for hiking.

Amazing view of downtown Grand Haven atop Dewey Hill. My second favorite park in Ottawa county. A vast expanse of marked trails and even more unmarked. Super unique landscape with beautiful dunes scenery. This park is the start of a string of county, city and state parks that you can walk for miles and miles along Lake Michigans dunes. From Kitchell-Lindquist north to P.J. Hoffmaster state park. No public...
