My family (wife and 2 teens) stopped here as an overnight stop on the way to Las Vegas. I picked the hotel and didnât tell anyone what to expect. We pulled up later at night and they were all questioning what I had done and I told them to just give it a minute. I showed them the electronic locks with no need for a front desk to check in and we headed in. I was really impressed with how easy it was to do the check in process online and how well it worked on site. Technology is great when it works. We walked down the hall towards our room and I started hearing compliments immediately from my whole family on the theme/style of the hotel. We got to the room and everyone was really impressed with the room especially given how unique this place is compared to any chain hotel. My wife was very happy with the cleanliness and she and my daughter both started taking pictures of the room because you just donât see places like this. Everything was in great shape, clean and very stylish. There was a separate sink from the bathroom in the room with a small countertop and a mini fridge that actually had a separate door for the freezer, not just a little flap in the top of the fridge area. Very impressive for a seemingly small feature. We ate our dinner outside around one of the fire pits under the lights. The weather was perfect (not sure how Melrose arranged that, but thank you) and the atmosphere was very relaxing inside their âyardâ. The outside area was every bit as well maintained and well designed as the interior. After dinner we took a walk around downtown. It was only a couple blocks away, but we started so late that there were very few shops open, mostly bars. But we could still get a good sense of all of the small businesses and unique shops in the area. It was a really great walk. Check out was done without a hitch. We basically just loaded up and took off. The whole experience couldnât have been easier or more relaxing. My family mentioned this as one of their favorite parts of the whole vacation and it was just an overnight stop! My son even reminded several days later to make sure I write a good review, so here it is. Well done Melrose Hotel, we will definitely stay again if we are even in Grand Junction and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone who needs a place to stay, especially if youâre looking for much more of an experience than the average...
Read moreWe were traveling to Grand Junction for our child's HS football game. We choose to stay at the Hotel Melrose after exploring downtown and my wife liked the color and the Idea of a Boutique hotel. We walked inside and a young lady sitting in the Mixed Drink bar helped us out and checked us in, however we learned that you book online, check in online and use your phone as a key to enter, so no check in desk. Our room felt swanky, was comfortable clean and modern. This is where it becomes Serendipitous and our personal experience. At the Game one of our fellow parent's friend who lived locally informed us that the mixed drink bar was great and in high demand as entry is limited to hotel guests and no more than 15 or so people. Well, my wife doesn't like alcohol but felt compelled to try a drink because of the reputation. We arrived back at the hotel at 10pm and it looked as though the bar tender was closing shop and asked him if he was done, replying "I'd be happy to serve you. He helps us choose some drinks off the menu and as we're deciding on one of the drinks, a knock on the door and five men ask to come in and sat at the bar with us and we had great conversation and found out they were a band heading from Vegas to Boulder on a tour and playing at the Boulder Theatre, being that we live close to Boulder we were asked if we wanted to be put on a guest list. Certainly. So we shared a shot finished our drinks and retired to our room for the night, next morning check out is simple and we head home. Well last night we attended the 20 years tour for the Cold War Kids, and they gave us a shout out for attending and their time at the Bar with us. Serendipity will make forever embed this memory as one of our favorites. Maybe your stay will be special too. We would never have gone to the bar that night had it not been for a series of coincidence. Thanks for the Memory and the comfortable accommodations....

We decided to stay at The Melrose on a quick trip to Grand Junctionâand Iâm so glad we did. Everything is keyless (no front desk!), and you use your phone for entry and concierge contact. Super modern and smooth from check-in to checkout.
The first night felt almost eerie⌠like I was the only guest! It was that quiet. I wandered around downtown, grabbed dinner, and when I came back, I started seeing a few other people. The outdoor area was a gemârelaxing by the firepit under the glow of the neon rose sign was the perfect way to unwind.
Parking is conveniently located in the lot to the left of the building. Itâs paid, but easy to use through the appâaveraging about $10 a day.
By the second night, the energy picked up a bit. The bar onsite had openedâbut closed before I could make it back out. Thankfully, on my final night, I caught the last 30 minutes and got to enjoy two fantastic cocktails served in these fun, festive ceramic mugs. The drinks felt handmade, and the bartenders were super friendly. Lots of guests and even locals seemed to enjoy the outdoor space with drinks in hand, which gave it a relaxed, social vibe.
Inside, I stayed in a double roomâhuge, clean, and very comfortable. The bathroom was modern, and I appreciated having a fridge and coffee pot. The only tiny hiccup: it took me a bit to locate the outlets, but once I did, all good!
Weâre actually heading back over the 4th of July weekend and booked a smaller room this time to compare. Iâm hoping we can make it back in time to enjoy the cocktail bar againâthough I do wish their hours were a bit longer. It closes pretty early, and itâs definitely a feature worth lingering over.
All in all, The Melrose is a fun, stylish stay with a great location and one of the better vibes Iâve experienced at a boutique spot like this. Would...
