Just stopped into Pollux, I have been a fan since Ivy opened it many years ago and I was saddened by the total rudeness of the two young ladies that were working the store. Got a greeting with what I perceived as a dirty look and was never spoken to again throughout my 15-20 min browse. They were processing new items together behind the counter and never stopped their convo even after I grabbed a sweater off the rack. Used to get “would you like me to start you a dressing room”…I just tried it on in front of a mirror out in the main area of the store put it back on the rack and slowly walked out as I wanted to see if either girl would speak. But I was never spoken to again after that initial unfriendly greeting. In all the years I’ve been in, I’ve encountered good and often great ladies working the store. What happened? I felt like I was out at the mall…not at the cute Main Street boutique I’ve always liked to stop in at. I don’t need a lot of attention when I shop because I’m there to buy, get in and get out however, this time I actually felt uncomfortable and didn’t feel like taking the effort to pull out the credit card…sad how things...
Read moreI’ve been shopping here for over ten years. After management changed, so did the service. I was in this store for around 30 minutes (3/29/2021 roughly 2:30pm). Inside 2 young employees ignored me as they shopped and tried on clothes for themselves. An older woman was in the back and an older woman in the front watching me closely with suspicion (I’m a woman of color). I was greeted with an awkward greeting and a cold glare. Not one person asked if I needed help, not one person helped me with a dressing room, not one person asked about sizing, and not one person made me feel welcome in anyway. Only ignores and dark stares. I bought a pair of pants, and only then was I acknowledged like a human being. 4 employees and not one assisted me. Shop owner, check the footage. You will find no lies in this review.

Read moreIm a little peculiar about introductions and greetings and just treating people with hospitality and putting out a welcome when you go to public places. I think it’s key to make sure you develop positive experiences with your customers to retain. So unfortunately, I was not greeted, the lady never spoke to me, and oddly enough she kept her back to me. Never look at me in the eye as she responded to one of my questions she just answered wow she continued doing whatever she was doing, speaking to me from her back. It’s really unfortunate because it looks like a lovely boutique. I just felt awkward and therefore I fell out of place. So I went shopping at other places who appeared to be more friendly. It just makes me more comfortable and confident spending my money in friendly and inviting...
