We went here for breakfast this morning after looking at their menu on their website. We chose them because of their affordable prices and they had biscuits and gravy. When we arrived there was a line out the door. We stood and waited in the long line. When we got up to the counter their menu was considerably different from their website. Prices were almost twice as much and no biscuits and gravy. Fine. I ordered a bacon, egg and cheese on garlic asiago bagel. (I ended up receiving a sun dried tomato bagel. Gross. Not what I wanted.)It was very flat/smashed and didn't even look like a bagel and didn't have much flavor. It definitely was not worth almost $9. My husband ordered Grizzled, Gnarly, Old, Granby Cowpoke Burrito. The "savory" potatoes the burrito comes with we're just giant pieces of what seemed like plain baked potato, but h said the burrito was good. We also got a black cherry scone and a strawberry cream cheese croissant. My son enjoyed the scone, but the strawberry cream cheese croissant had hardly anything in it. I was expecting like pieces of strawberries and cream cheese, but it was just like a strawberry jam and almost no cream cheese. All in all we probably will not come here again and they very much need to update the menu on their webpage. It's...
Read moreThe Blue Water Bakery is a local favorite and hidden gem conveniently located just off of Grand Ave. They offer a wide variety of sweet and savory rolls, breads, and other pastries, but I consider their crowning jewel to be the warm breakfast options. The scrambles, benedicts, and “southwesterns” are all incredible, with the Grizzled, Gnarly, Old, Granby-Cowpoke Burrito being my personal favorite, and the country-fried potatoes served on the side are equally fitting to prepare you for both a fast-paced day on the slopes and a leisurely afternoon waiting for bites out on Grand or Shadow Mountain lakes.
The atmosphere is always friendly and inviting, including a convenient “reading nook”; there may be some lines actually out the door during the busiest days of summer but I wait in them every time because you won’t find a better breakfast in town and would be hard-pressed to find a better breakfast anywhere else in the state. Whether you are looking for a quick nibble or snack or need to fill up on something that will keep you energized during the activities that this town offers, your visit to Blue Water Bakery is sure to be the highlight of your day no matter what else the day might...
Read moreI unfortunately had a different experience than most people leaving reviews for this place. The pastries were really good, but the cooked food was disappointing, especially considering it cost $45 for just 3 of us. We stood right outside of the door and listened to every name being called out. We watched them set a to-go box down in the section of the counter labeled “do not take- incomplete order,”and didn’t hear a name with it. A few minutes later, the rest of our food still wasn’t ready, but the girl calling out the food started to yell out in a very rude way that our food was ready and had been called out for the last 10 minutes. We were genuinely confused as to why she had gotten SO mad at us when it was set in a place clearly marked for us to not take it, the rest of our food wasn’t ready, and all 3 of us didn’t hear our name when we had heard every name called out before that. I hope everyone else had better luck, but spending $45 just be talked down to was not a great way to...
