Long review alert - sorry! I've been attending in person and virtual classes at Twisted Hot Yoga for about a year now and have not once been disappointed in a class or the way the owner, Ginya, runs her business. I always leave feeling better than I did when I walked in. From the first time I clicked on the official website, I knew Twisted was the studio for me. I need to know what to expect when I walk through the doors of a business and the website went super in depth when providing those expectations and answered any questions I may have. Having this information definitely put me at ease before attending my first class. From mat placement, COVID guidelines and class descriptions, the website provides everything you need to know. I purchased the 12 month membership in July of 2020 right before we thought studios would open back up. While nothing beats practicing in studio, the virtual classes were engaging and satisfying. While I prefer practicing in studio, the virtual library and live classes via Zoom did not disappoint. They also run amazing retail deals and Ginya even offered local delivery while the studios were closed (which I definitely took advantage of more than once). To find a small business owner who will take the time to personally deliver your retail order is unheard of. So much heart goes into running this business and it shows. Ginya and her team are resilient and innovative in more ways than one. My favorite class to attend is definitely Hip Hop Heat on Monday nights. It's the best way to kick off my week and the energy is unmatched. If Hip Hop isn't your thing, there are plenty of classes on the schedule that will fit your vibe. I always feel safe when I attend studio classes with the guidelines that are in place and upheld to the highest standard. The website goes very in depth about their reopening policies and from first hand experience, I can tell you that the policies are followed exactly as promised. I hope to see your masked face in class soon! I promise wearing a mask during hot yoga is FINE. You...
Read moreI was on a consulting assignment in Grand Rapids & practiced multiple times at Twisted Hot Yoga on Beltline (Knapp's Corner). The studio was clean, spacious, beautiful & the instructors were knowledgable, kind and a pleasure to be led by.
I am a certified yoga instructor, so know very well the philosophy of yoga, alignment and anatomy of postures, etc. I only heard instructors that were very knowledgable of the practice, in both the mental and physical philosophies of yoga. They are the "real deal" and I highly recommend this studio.
As a side note: I bought a 10-class pack & days later found out that I was transfered back to Detroit. The studio allowed me to transfer this package over to a co-worker. They did not have to do that & could have easily told me "too bad, not our policy" but they were so accomodating & kind to let me transfer this, based on the unique situation. It really said alot to me about the integrity of...
Read moreI love coming to Twisted Hot Yoga. They have some great instructors and the option to go to any of the three studios is awesome. The cool lavender towel is amazing, and I love the sweet heat classes on the days I want something a little less strenuous. My one gripe would be the last two years there seem to be many closures in the winter months before even a snow flake has hit the ground. I understand keeping people safe, but classes seem to be canceled out of an abundance of caution and there ends up not being any snow / ice. It would be nice if closures needed to happen, they could hold off until the storm actually hits as we know that weather is fickle and something we can't always...
