World Market — Attraction in Grand Rapids

I am not one to usually leave reviews, but the customer service from the manager at this location was so bad, it felt warranted. I had a rough day, and was looking forward to some retail therapy and picking out items to completely redecorate my patio! I love this store, and was very happy to finally find a store with what I was looking for. Now, typically the point of a brick and mortar store is for customers to be able to purchase an item they want immediately. Along with a cart full of items, I picked out a side table (with a price tag!) that happened to be the last model in the store and the model that was on display. The manager proceeded to tell me I could not purchase the item and would need to order online. I told her I came all the way here to buy items same day and did not want to go through the trouble of ordering and waiting for it to arrive. She was very rude and would not work with me at all, did not try to show alternative options, and simply said that if they sold it to me the next customer would not be able to see it. I’m sorry, but your next customer is not promised and I am right here ready and willing to spend $500+ on a cart full of items. Needless to say I left with nothing, and the store lost out on a sale and potential future...

World Market is my go to place for buying foods from around the world as well as buying unique gifts and getting unique bath accessories. The staff is always friendly and helpful if you have any questions. The lighting in the store isn't too bright and the music is just right.

Top buys: Ramen. If all you have had is Top Ramen or Maruchan Ramen, then get ready for new ramen experiences! From spicy ramen, to ramen with multiple packets, there's plenty of options to choose from!

Rugs: There are a lot of very unique rugs sold here including rugs that are sustainably made! From rainbow patterns to somewhat Victorian patterns, it seems like there is a rug for everyone!

Unique find: mini section! There's a shelf near the back of the store filled with mini food things! From jam to honey to mini hot sauce, if you're looking for an on the go condiments or a tiny thing for your tiny cooking hobby, this is the perfect place you should be.

Entrance is handicapped accessible. Handicap parking.

Overall, I really like world market and I feel like it really is a market full of what this world has...

Very nice cashier took back our bottles and cans as though it wasn't the unpleasant job it was. I've cashiered in the past and know firsthand how much bottle returns aren't fun. It's for that very reason that I try to keep my returns from having fluids spilling everywhere, dirty/sticky on the outside, uncrushed/broken, smelly, etc. Why make an unpleasant job even worse? So, all in all, I was very happy my service today at World Market. I highly recommend this store....especially if you're looking for interesting or odd soft...
