I really can't say enough good things about Sam's dock.
We rented the tritoon over Memorial Day. I have 14 people in my family including kids and grownups so we needed a pretty big boat. The tritoon seated 20 and had an upper deck on top that you could use while stopped. First off, the boat itself was wonderful. It had nice leather seats, was clean, and everything on it worked as intended. Really it was much nicer than I expected for a rental. It was also much easier to drive than I expected. I was a bit nervous since I hadn't driven a boat in many, many years, but the staff did a great job training me on the operation.
The staff was great all around. They were extremely courteous, knowledgeable, and patient. They made me feel super comfortable handling the boat and did a great job receiving it in when we returned to dock.
My family had a great time on the boat. We alternated between cruising around, pulling the provided tube, and just jumping in for a swim. Everything about the experience was perfect and we managed to return to dock without anyone getting hurt, losing anything, or really having anything at all go wrong.
The only tiny issue I had was that the boat was a little late to return from the previous trip for my appointment. But even that turned out to be a good thing as my family was predictably late. My three hour clock didn't start until we were all on board and ready to head out. If you plan on renting during a busy day like Memorial day, just keep in mind that they might be a...
Read moreI rented a ski boat today and my review isn’t so much on my boat but the accompanying party boat that had a group of High Schoolers that I’m friendly with and an a part of. It was known beforehand that I rented the ski boat and the plan was for me to come alongside the bigger boat and rotate in and out 4 guys at a time to go tubing. I’m not actually sure what itch was crawling up the person operating the barge but he was nasty, yelling at me to stay away, despite the teachers and officials pleading with them to allow the students to enjoy themselves. They wanted to swim over to our ski boat and were told they would not be allowed back on if they did and they’d need to relinquish their life vests beforehand, which was clearly against safety rules. So our tube we paid extra for went unused and they’d guys on their final day of school missed out on a lot of fun.
Ya know, there are other lakes in Dallas, with a lot friendlier people. I for one won’t be back to this place and I’ll do everything in my power to make sure the school doesn’t return next year, and they’ve been going there for several years.
Just nasty people! Not all of them, but the ones...
Read more**We went to one on Lake Lewisville.
We did the Mother’s Day Brunch cruise, and it was pretty terrible. It was a two hour cruise, but we were only on the water for 45 minutes because they said winds were too high. The wind was not exceptionally high to me nor appeared to be causing any major white caps, but I’m not a sea captain. My main complaint was the inefficiency of the buffet. They had one line and were making to-order omelets. Of the 2 hour cruise, my husband spent 1 hour and 15 minutes in line waiting while I was alone above with our kids. We also noted the manger and crew eating while we still had not been served. When we finally got our food, the cruise was over. The food was cafeteria level at best. We paid right at $190 for 2 adults and 2 kids so I expected food to be a little better. We also had a nightmare getting our ticket validated to get out of parking lot because credit card machine wasn’t working (I think this is separate company but it still made for a rough trip out).
Other complaints which may be unique to our preferences included: -excessively loud, not family friendly music -not toddler...
