I think on a good day this Club is not as bad as Club ATL, but today this place feels abandoned. (I was here on a Sunday morning)
Somewhat hard to find, its up on a sort of elevated island level in the middle of the terminal. It seemed almost abandoned, a few guests, but only one staff checking folks in who was watching YouTube videos. Somewhat oddly configured space, which could have been charming if it was clean and with a brief orientation at reception, this club consists of several little nooks that are unconnected to any other space. I finally figured out there is a more traditional area, but it was closed off. I couldn't find a bathroom for a while, when I asked YouTube attendant, he did kindly point the way into another space. The bathroom is just one seat, with a shower, and it was gross with debris and damp floor and needed restocking. I let the receptionist know and he did ask another person to check it right away.
The bar in the open section was closed, being used for stacking various boxes of mixers, and a sign was posted about Texas Sunday drinking laws, opens at noon. (Might be helpful info as part of the non-existent orientation).
Food was good and well stocked - jalapeno cheese grits, a southwest omelette casserole, and a cute yogurt parfait. The usual espresso machine, water, and soda machine.
The seating area is very small with close together seats, had not been cleared of dishes, but I did find an open seat with a clean table. The area across the way with the bathroom was quite open, but seemed unattended again - dishes out and furniture not straightened. The floor in all spaces has not been cleaned recently: hair, a few liquid spills, bits of paper napkin, etc. Not appealing.
I really think I would like this Club, with more attentive and orienting reception, and generally cleaned and straightened. As it was free with my priority pass, I appreciated the tasty food and coffee refill. But it was not better than the regular airport bathroom (which was VERY clean) and sitting at the gate.
Hope to try again with...
Read moreI would point out that Club Access is a service that we pay for. This is why I am leaving a review of the experience we endured. After a 23-hour travel time including a 15+ hour flight, we found ourselves with a layover in Dallas. Noting the time, I requested Shower services. I was told the next appointment would be at 5 pm. Since this gave me just enough time to clean up and still board my plane I took it. I set an alarm on my phone and before it went off I was handed a towel (no bodywash as per my request) and told to wait at the door as I was next. When the occupant emerged from the shower room, I was stopped by him from going into the room. He put his arm out and refused my entry stating that his friend was Next. I told him that my assigned time was 5 pm and it was 4:58 so I was next. He just said no and let his friend push past me. There was no one who worked there to help me and by the time I got to a person who could, I was told there wasn’t much they could do and asked if “I could just wait a bit”. I guess I could if I didn’t want to board my plane... Seriously? I feel this should have been handled differently. Give people a start and end time. Explain that their appointment is just for them and not their whole group etc.
The only saving grace of this location is Bobby. He tried his best to assist me but his station didn’t give him any power or ability to do so. I feel that he understands Customer Service and would be a great addition to the Management team (He would certainly care more than the ladies that I dealt with did). I suppose we will have to avoid this lounge in the future and so...
Read moreI've learned to temper my expectations in US priority pass lounges and thought the bad reviews were overblown. Sadly, they are not. This is by far the worst airport lounge I have ever been in, which sucks because I honestly hate leaving negative reviews.
Aside from the person at the check in desk, not a single employee seemed to care about the guests.
The food was about what I expected from a Club location, but it still wasn't great.
1 toilet for the entire lounge, which was across the hall from the food and beverage section. Lord help you if someone is trying to take a shower and it's busy.
No views of the runway. Might not be a big deal to some of you, but it's one of my favorite parts of the lounge experience.
Seats were less comfortable than those
I was there for 90 minutes, and saw someone behind the bar for maybe 20 min total. With the mediocre food, lack of toilets, mediocre food, and lack of a view the only decent part left would be the bar, but they can't even keep it staffed for me than a couple minutes at a time.
If you're not already in Terminal D, it's not worth the trip unless you really enjoy saving money. Go find a bar in the terminal you're in and pay a little for a...
