My friend who is caucasian and I (east asian) were eating at the restaurant. The waiter was named Cece and she was so rude and racist. I guess it’s Texas though so it makes sense. So disappointed and ruined my mood for the remainder of the trip. Cece placed both of our bills down and my friend went to go pay at the bar. She was paying by cash and I was paying by card. After my friend paid, I went up to her and asked if I could pay. She said to me, “Girl I have been waiting for you to finish, that’s why I brought the receipt like 10 minutes ago!”. She said it with a passive aggressive, condescending tone when to my friend she was telling her she can pay whenever she wants with whatever method. She was so rude to me and shoved me the receipt. She probably expected a big tip because I was taking a bit longer to finish my food. To my friend she greeted her goodbye and told her thanks for coming and nothing to me. Note, my friend literally paid 30 seconds before me. It’s unfortunate because people like her will never change. I hope no one else experiences racism at the taco restaurant in the airport. If you do want tacos, try to avoid the server named Cece. She is a middle-aged white woman with warm blonde hair. Please be aware and hopefully no one experiences this...
Read moreAs we were stuck on a layover to our Calif Destination due to our original flight being delayed, we thought a little chips n salsa with a quick cocktail would distract us from our flight frustration. Needless to say although the 2 servers tagteaming our 2 top were on point the chips & salsa were just "ok" , the Margarita not thirst quenching and $40 for my husband's 1 Bourbon drink was beyond OUTRAGEOUS. When the bill was brought to the table and I saw the $76.86 total I waived the server down to inquire. He went and asked the Manager about the bourbon overcharge and was told " that's what Corporate charges". Let's call it what it is, "CORPORATE GREED" . IN NASHVILLE TN BOURBONS ON BROADWAY AREN'T $40 A DRINK. A small bottle of Buffalo Trace is under $40 in Nashville that yields 8-10 pours. TXMX at the DFW airport is NOT about serving customers a great experience rather putting out mediocre and OVERPRICED food & beverage. Never again while laying over through DFW would I give TXMX my business. ...
Read moreStumbled upon this gem when I figured I could sneak in a nice dinner during a short stop-over at the DFW airport. Was advised my next flight was at gate D, so I headed over to this section. Was in the mood for more local food (*I come from Canada) & wanted something fairly light.
Friendly host/waitress seated me and also immediately gave me a (much needed) large glass of water. Ordered chicken tacos, which arrived quickly & with a bowl of seasoned rice.
While thoroughly enjoying these $15 for 3 small juicy tacos (chicken was moist, sauce was flavourful) on tiny corn tortillas (stars only to portion size) - I suddenly saw my gate completely changed & I only had about 20 minutes to get there before boarding started.
I had to quickly request my bill, which the understanding waitress obliged & took off before I had a chance to try the rice.
If I stop at this airport & have time, I’d definitely come back!
