We visit there 2-3 times per week most weeks. Besides a comprehensive selection of books, they have many other resources that more traditional libraries do not offer. If you review their website, you can see all they have to offer. If you don't have Internet access, just stop by during business hours and staff will be glad to help you.
There's a children's section of books that's separate from the adult section. There is a large computer lab that's free to use with your library card. In addition to the computers, they also have printers and photocopiers available for use.
Besides books, videos, and music, they also have an extensive arts and crafts area and maker studios. You can learn to crochet, sew or weave. They have lasers available for engraving and/or cutting. There are various printers available that will do tee shirts or and other forms of printing that can't be done on a regular printer. There is also a full woodshop for library card holders to use after taking the certification class.
The LINC library has so much to offer it's difficult to cover it in a review. Staff there are very friendly and helpful and are there to help. Definitely check out the website or stop in to see what's available to meet...
Read moreWe came just for the children's museum with a plethora of wild tiny people. The whole thing was visually stunning and interactive fun. The winding paths and sensory rooms and hidy-holes in the "river flows backwards" exhibit was an exceedingly fun way to lose a handful of kids for half an hour. The signs aren't kidding when they recommend that kids 12 and under should be supervised, however, you should knew that moms don't need to climb through the net tunnel to get to the second story. There is a staircase. It's designed to fit kiddos more than parents, but The 2 year old who tumbled down the 2 stories of climbing nets had the time of his life, while traveled way faster than any mama could rush down a set of stairs. That was more entertaining than the spirographs and...
Read moreWhile visiting family in the area, we brought my 2 year old here and he LOVED playing at all the activities upstairs. On our last day in town we wanted to stop by again and hurried over when we saw it closed at 5pm. When we arrived at 4:30 and walked in, an employee informed us that although the library closes at 5, the area upstairs would be closing in 10 minutes. We were bummed but understood that it takes some time to clean the area. However, the employee had already turned everything off and put “Closed” signs on all the activities. Must have been nice for this employee to check out of work early that day, but my son was very disappointed. I suggest the library update their hours online accordingly and wait to turn off activities until the publicly...
