I donated my time setting proper, safe, climbable routes (they didn't even have a rating system) and maintaining the 'wall' (20 or so ft. Of stripped out, unsafe, poorly placed or damaged 'holds') - because the employees are not climbers, do not climb, and frankly did not care. No good deed goes unpunished as I was accused of stealing several old derelict 'harnesses' (basically swami belts they later found and should NEVER have been in service anyway!) And accused of stealing....bolts... Yeah , the stripped out unsafe garbage hardware haphazardly littering the 'wall'. After being falsely accused then vindicated by their cc camera feed (which was not reviewed until AFTER the initial accusations and only upon MY request, having to now clear my sullied name) and raising several ethical and safety issues with the city (of which as far as I can tell have never been rectified and are still out of compliance), I detest this facility. If you value your reputation , time, or even life, AVOID...
Read moreThis is a okay pool. Sure it has its good pool, but the thing is the schedules. They are open Monday to Friday from 11 to 1. That leaves kids only 2-3 hours of fun. Sometimes kids would want to go in the evening, when they have time but it would be closed. The pool nearby is open from 10 am to 8 pm. They offer many amenities such as a hot pool for the adults. They serve food there during break. And break is only half of half an hour. They have a little kid pool that goes to 2 1/2 feet. The other pool which is the big one measures from 3 ft towards 9 1/2 ft. To reach the deep end, just need to do a simple test. Tread water for 1 minute and swim a 25 from 3 to 9 (both walls.) and to enter you just need a pass. If your a guest, you need to get a guest pass of 25$. Very nice. This pool should reconsider on their schedules because not many kids would be available at these times they have. They should also have an...
Read moreWe have enjoyed the climbing wall and the swimming pool here. The swimming pool is cold (77-78 degrees), but they don’t have the crowds the other city pools have, which I like, we just don’t last very long there because it’s so cold. I also have not been impressed with the lifeguards here. They are often distracted and talking with other people and are unprofessional. The pool hours are also ridiculous and close at 1pm and the diving well seems to never be open.
It was tricky to figure out how we could get certified to go climbing, but we finally figured it out with only 1 failed attempt (website was misleading). And the wall is small and tucked away in a corner ally of the facility, but was enjoyable still. There are mostly overhead climbs, with really only 1 straight up climb.
We will return to climb occasionally, but we will probably not come...
