These folks do not follow state and local guidelines. As of Mid April they lifted the mask mandate for Weld County and you can wear a mask if you want but it's not necessary. I've spent hundreds here and wanted to take my wife out on a date with out a mask... Because the science proves it's inifective and can do more harm than good. I wanted to sit down and enjoy a drink at a table that was 6 feet away. If I was sitting down without a mask they could serve me. The logic here is lunacy! Whether you are for Masks or not, 477 distilling should be there to serve the people instead of telling them what to do. It's offensive and I thought they were for equality. Being forced to wear a mask and or “getting a Vax” goes against my freedom and affects my health. I have a medical condition and I was denied service. Not serving me because of my political views, religion, or health is discrimination. Falling into the system and demanding people to change to use their public service is socialism. At what point does it become that? Will you make people have vaccines to order a dink here? Do you not believe in medical freedom here? The dumb thing about this is, if I was sitting in their lobby I wouldn't have to wear a mask (because covid doesn't affect people sitting down ;) I'm one of many and my entire family is done spending hundreds on entertainment to a company that treats their customers like this. I'll be taking my service and supporting other local companies that believe in medical freedom and choice. You have to take a stand and stop letting the government tell you what to do. Don't...
Read moreCame in on a Thursday with a couple friends for a quick after work drink and took our time deciding. They offered samples of whatever we wanted to try and the almondretto was so smooth and luxurious. Ended up buying a bottle because it is so good. By far the best almond liquor I've ever had.
I also tried the gin straight and it had the opposite effect gin normally has. This one hit hard up front (strong juniper smell, wicked bite to start) but smoothed out nicely and left a very pleasant aftertaste.
We ordered the Cucumber Collins, the Gigi and something with almondretto and lemon/lime. Everyone loved their own choice, but like all the others (which is key).
A couple things will improve over time, I think. The food partnership with the Rio is convenient, but somewhat overpriced. Maybe partnering with a couple other spots downtown that could deliver - Right Coast, Smashburger, etc?
The other thing is it's not clear if you can order a drink that's not on the menu. Like what if I want just a gin and tonic? I didn't see tonic in any of the cocktails listed, so I wasn't sure if it was available.
100% will be back. Will be pushing to have after-work drinks and holiday parties here as well. Location and atmosphere are great and honestly, it feels like a trendy downtown Fort Collins or Denver spot more than Greeley. That's a pretty big achievement.
Tower 56 is a wonderful addition to downtown...
Read moreI'll be honest with you, when I first heard about a distillery opening in Greeley, I was not expecting much. The fact is, distilling alcohol is actually pretty easy to do, but distilling alcohol that is drinkable, let alone enjoyable is something very few people can do well. That being that case, I can tell you that Matt Estrin and the team at Tower 56 Distilling definitely know what they are doing! Their signature creation, Tower 56 Bourbon has become one of my favorites and is now considered an essential staple of my home bar.
But for all their accomplishments distilling exceptional spirits, the thing that I love most about Tower 56 is their incredible commitment to the community in which they do business. In many ways, one could argue that Tower 56 lies at the heart of revival of Downtown Greeley. To be sure, there are many who have played a role in bringing life back to Downtown Greeley, but Tower 56 has taken this process to a new level. And that, more than the bourbon or anything else they offer for sale, is what makes Tower 56 a true gem of Downtown Greeley.
We are so fortunate to have a truly local, family-owned business like Tower 56 in Greeley and I am confident that they will continue to be a staple of our town for...
