We recently purchased two new fully loaded cx-50's. About 90,000 dollars in cash. You'd think you'd be treated decently.
Like dealing with used car salesmen in the ghetto... Once they have your money, you no longer matter.
Besides failing to do even simple things like explain to my senior father how to use the tech in the vehicle. (which he had to sign that they did-they left him in the lobby for 30 minutes and he ended up leaving)
Then there's "forgetting" to add the $1000 cash rebate, or even forgetting my tow hitch which was supposed be attached to the vehicle but wasnt... They shook down my senior dad with a "if you don't pay now, the deals won't be here tomorrow." Shame on him yes, but he's also almost 90. They waited for me to leave to do this.
About 3 weeks later after multiple emails and calls to them and receiving calls during work from them every couple of days after i finally can be done with these people. I contacted corporate Mazda as well, as this is a horrible representation of the brand. They loaded blank documents to the flash drive they gave me. Outright lied to me on the loaner car...I'll explain further.
But not before i get to the part When they finally returned my new car to me with bird droppings all over the hood. Because that's what 90k gets you at Empire Mazda in Greenbrook. (See photo)
If that's not a clear example of how these people do business. It gets better. When i purchased the vehicle i left it there for 2 days under the pretense the hitch would be installed. I returned to hear they had to order it. After several attempts and close to two weeks to get the part that was supposed to be included, i get a call on my voicemail saying they will order it and it will arrive in 4 days. So once again i go back. I'm told by the sales person that they'd lend me a car. Well that was a big deal too "we cant give you a car at this time!" I tell them i just spoke to someone on the phone, he goes back to check and then finds keys. Eventually i did get a car provided, which smelled like 95 degree taco salad. (Apparently they don't clean them either-was dirty napkins in the center console) I'll add, that was pretty nasty to have to drive to work in.
I get home today and there's a new email! they're charging me $60 for the car now. I already spent over $80 in gas just driving back and forth to this place to get them to actually give me what was paid for. And then the bird droppings...then they bill me. (After telling me the $270 cost on the initial agreement i signed was in case there was damage or missing fuel-and that it would not be billed)
Avoid this place at all cost. They have you sign documents that arent filled out for you. they have you sign for things they don't go over. They don't get back to you as if you matter at all. And then they stick you with fees for things they said they'd take care of, and bring your brand new car back a filthy mess.
They also scuffed the bumper when installing the hitch.
Avoid these people. Go to Mazda in Hamilton. These people were an absolute nightmare.
Sales person who sold me the car was named Mason Nix, and the Sales Manager was named Alex Gonzalez. Neither deserve your business. If they'll do that to someone who drops almost a hundred thousand dollars, imagine what they'll do to you on a lease or a 35k purchase. Do business with these people at your own peril. They can keep their "free" oil changes. Likely bill me for those too. I won't let these people near my car again.
One additional note. After being told they close at 6, i called early to get an update (since my mazda app tells you when they unlock and lock the car..) Approximately 3:00. Of course no one answered. I get a call at about 4:30 saying the cars done and i can pick it up. Anyone whos been here knows what rush hour traffic is like in this area. I tell the guy there's no way i can make it there by 6 in traffic. (this is why i called earlier) So that of course accounts for the second day billed for the "free" loaner car. One thing after another non stop for 3 weeks....
Read moreI was looking to buy a car for my daughter and one option was the Mazda CX-70 but unlucky we made a decision to come to this dealer trying to get the better option for us, from the welcome until we met with the salesman Samir everything was ok, salesman is very professional and polite, he knows what he is selling but when we met the dealer Manager then everything turn to the bad side of this place, the guy is so unprofessional, cocky and nothing polite about treating and doing business with a customer. He pushed to much to my daughter in making a decision what car to get, ignoring me all the time and talking to me like he is God at that dealer. I don’t think he ever passed the idea that I’m the decision maker. Manager came to us a couple of times asking and repeating on details that my daughter and I already explained to Samir the salesman. I told my wife and daughter from the start when we spoke to the Manager that I didn’t like his attitude but my wife and daughter wanted to buy the car already and use Samir because he has been a very good salesman and person to us. After we made a decision to buy a car over there I did ask to get the new car numbers from them and a price for my old car daughter’s trade in and at that point the Manager stupidly asked me what cars do I have home, I did answer with the true and said that I have a Landrover and a F150 King Ranch, I knew right there he was going to come with a ridiculously offer based on what we have home and yes minutes later he came with a the new car sticker price and a $ 5,000.00 offer on the trade in. I just smiled to his offer and say that he could go lower on his new car and higher to $ 10,000.00 on the trade in because I was already offered that amount on other couple dealers. He went nuts and got very upset and told me to show him where the trade in got offered that value and where it shows for sale on $ 15,000.00 for similar used car options. I told him that I don’t need to do that, after he got very upset he couldn’t control himself and step off the desk trashing their paperwork and cursing in front of daughter and wife. I knew I can not do business with him and I did ask Samir to bring a different person there to make the deal with, but the manager told me really angry that on that dealer he is the big boss, he said I give the orders here. Right there he lost the business and our respect, we just left the place and found other brands and dealers much much better than this one to buy a car for my daughter. She is now very happy driving a 2025 SUV. I highly DO NOT recommend this place and if you go there ask to deal with someone else no with the manager. But like I said before there are other dealers with more options and with professional people who...
Read moreI’m a Mazda girly for the last several years. I bought my last car here when it was still Crystal Automall, a 2018 CX5 that I loved very dearly. After I was in an unfortunate accident a couple weeks ago that left my car totaled, I was so upset and stressed thinking of having to go shop for a new one. Spending a bunch of money on a new car was not on my 2024 bingo card, ok!! But after multiple pleasant experiences in the past, I knew my first stop was going to be this dealership. Literally got myself all the way here from Bayonne, even though there are plenty of closer places I could’ve tried first.
Even though they are under new ownership, my experience this past weekend wasn’t anything less than expected. Justin Almanzar helped me out. I knew what I wanted, but I was on a tight budget. I was also interested in leasing this time, which I had never done before and knew little about. Justin was great. He listened to what I wanted, showed me everything I asked to see without making me feel any undue pressure, and when it was time to make a decision, he made me feel comfortable knowing I had made the right choice. I got all of my questions answered and then some, and he did everything in his power to get me into the car I wanted while sticking to my budget. Even shared his lunch with my mom and I when it was getting late and we started getting hangry while wrapping everything up! And laughed when I very firmly told him to make sure he puts my inspection sticker on straight (I’m so nice, I just have OCD ok- and he put it on very straight, thank you, Justin!)
All around the most painless car buying experience always at this dealership, and I will absolutely continue coming here when I’m in need of a new car (hopefully under better circumstance next time), and highly recommend it to anyone else I know who’s out there looking!
Side note- Mazdas are just great, reliable, attractive vehicles. If you’re not sure what car you’re looking for yet, you really cannot go wrong...
